Great day trip from Bridgeport CT. Take a short ferry trip to Port Jeff's, Long Island. Quant shops, bars & restaurants. Or drive your car onto the ferry if you need to cross the Sound for a short commute between NY and CT.

Makes the trip more relaxing. You avoid NYC and cruise across the sound, enjoy the view, chill in the lounge, have a bite to eat. Crew is top notch.

Simple and painless alternative to driving though New York City and to get off Long Island. My one gripe is the food offered which is expensive but isn't the worst. At the Port Jefferson terminal, there are a lot of great nearby food options within walking distance as long as you arrive early. On the Bridgeport side this is not the case as the terminal is very secluded from the nearby area. It would be nice if they could negotiate better food contacts or found some better solutions to what they currently offer. I wish I could justify the costs for the convenience but I have yet to do so even if the ride across the sound is over an hour.
