Last time ever using this ferry service!!!!!
They require 15 min arrival before departure with a reservation and this was the second time we were 1-3 minutes late due to traffic after a 1 1/2 hr. drive. We got a talking to by the guy in orange and joint the non reservation line.
Better to use the Cross Sound Ferry and pay 20$ more, never had any problems there and they are much better organized and better ships!!!!
Good ridden Bridgeport & Port Jefferson.

Good staff in the boats and drive on lots, the reason for the low rating is to the upper leadership does not have any clue to what customer centric business means. The have changed the payment process and did not figure out a way to continue ticket books, these are purchased by your most loyal customers and how you treat these customs is post on your web page that you are working on it?? Justin Ballotte and Fred Hall get your act together and learn what it means to be customer centric, if you do sales will grow

I try to take the Cross Sound Ferry over this whenever possible. The food is significantly worse here and the website booking process is atrocious.
However, they're supposed to be undergoing some terminal refurbishments and a website refresh, so maybe things will be better when they're done.

Easy to get on and off. Punctual departure and arrival times. Friendly staff. The passenger accommodations are sufficiently comfortable but not aesthetic. I've called it a "floating bus station." My 3 criticisms: 1) no WiFi, 2) ticket prices a bit high (one way with small car and 2 adults was $74), 3) the food prices at the concession stand are far too high. I paid $6 for a cup of fruit.

I live in Port Jeff and I go out of my way to take the Orient Point ferry if it makes sense. The staff is MUCH nicer than the Bridgeport ferry and the food is much better. Now they have started charging late fees if you miss your ferry or cancel less than 3 hours ahead of time. Don't get me wrong, it's way better to take the ferry than to go through NY.
