The boat is clean and people are friendly. But the wharf experience is over priced. $25 for a weekend with no view of Jefferson menorial. Just showing the IAD airport is not worth the time or money.

AVOID this company! We bought 5 adult tickets for the roundtrip Mount Vernon cruise and felt we were intentionally mislead on their advertised pricing schedule. Their advertising states they hold a BBB A+rating; their actions, advertising and attitude don't reflect an honest, up front business. Borderline ethics regarding ticket prices which advertise "From $42 per adult and $22 per child..." We arrived at their Alexandria ticket kiosk to buy tickets, bought 5 tickets believing the adult price was $42; when I looked at the receipt, it was for $176; quick math found it was $44/ticket; I asked the agent about the incorrect price and was advised prices were less Monday through Friday, and weekend rates were $44; I asked where I could find the higher rates because the website nor the sign in front of the kiosk contained the higher rate; the response from the ticket agent was that all their advertising stated prices... "from...." I stated the kiosk and website should state when prices are higher on the weekend when that is a standard practice; the ticket agent stated he hears this concern all the time from customers, and he can't do anything about this issue; apparently management is not concerned about these types of complaints. The Potomac Riverboat Company ticket agent handed me their Guest Services Manager's (George Pack) business card and advised to call him if I wanted to complain. I suspected after reading the other complaints and from their marketing tactics, it would be a waste of time. And from the looks of it, either this company is about to go under or they just don't care about good business ethics. Either way, I do NOT recommend this company.
