As a family we went to a steak restaurant called Prairie Schooner. The fun part about the restaurant was the setting. They had each table hidden in a covered wagon, and the center area was the setting of the Utah desert. There were lots of animals display. The kids loved it. Great food, great time.

This place has a really fun ambience. I have wanted to go for years, so I was afraid of being disappointed. I was not. The kid meals were fairly big, plenty for the upper kid ages, under 12. Steak and seafood. I know Thu some have said that steaks were under or over cooked, I am sure a lot is who is cooking, my medium sirloin was perfect. As for ambiance, see the pictures, it is a lot of fun. Also close to downtown, but easy to miss buried among the trees near the Ogden river.

Food and service was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised! It was a level of quality you don't see very often when going to sit-down restaurants these days.

The prime rib was excellent, and I loved the fried mushroom appetizer. Dessert was also great (I got the campfire cookie). I have been here 3 or 4 times, and have always had excellent service and great food. They even manage to cook my meat to my desired "doneness," which many restaurants seem to fail at. I've gotten it medium-rare, as ordered, every time I've gone there.
