This was a great place to start our kayak trip. The bathrooms we're super up to date and clean. Folks were friendly and the lake/river is beautiful. There was a nice shop to get some essentials like firewood and a town close by for anything else you might need. I'd visit again this summer for sure. Be sure to rent a site in advance because they do fill up pretty quick. It looked like a lot of people spend all summer there.

Kayaking the river was just beautiful! Very quiet and secluded in a week day. Swans swimming with their babies was stunning. Next time we will prepare Better... we were tired on our return b/c it was upstream.

Easy to find, really nice big camp sites. Very clean showers and bathrooms. Nice big lake. Swimming, boating, kayaking, jet skiing, etc. Kid and dog friendly. Had a really great time over Memorial Day Weekend!

Awesome place for a short walk/ hike. Beginner type trails not too extensive or difficult. Trails lead to the dam and also allow nice canoeing on the river.

Proud Lake is one of my favorite places to hike in the area. There are so many paths to change things up and lots of wildlife to encounter. If you forget dog waste bags, you can find free bags in the first parking lot. It is a wonderful state park to experience in all seasons, but especially in the summer (although it's really buggy so pack bug spray).
