I highly recommend Robyn as a therapist and clinical consultant. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of family systems, addictive disorders, trauma/ PTSD and other issues. Robyn is extremely well regarded in the mental health and treatment community. Her clinical skills are beyond reproach, but most importantly she is an amazing person who truly cares for others.

Unprofessional. She shared information with a colleague without permission from the patient. Refused to refer us to a hospital psychiatric program because my ex-husband refused to participate. As a single mom at the time, I felt this was egregious behavior. We are a work in progress, still. But aren’t all of us? I am now a counselor and I would NEVER put my interests before a client’s. Ever.

After 2 months of preparing for my first consult, I had a medical emergency and missed my first consult. I thought I had a retina tear and didn't hesitate to miss my first appointment. I missed my first consult and was faced with an agreed upon $330 fee. I didn't choose to have an eye emergency and hoped for some leniency but the response I received was to pay the $330 fee and reschedule. I work with my husband at our medical office; our missed appointment fees range from $50 to $100. We would most certainly exempt a patient from missing a medical appointment if they had an urgent medical emergency. I was referred by a professional and thought this was going to be a good fit for me; however, as no compassion was displayed with my situation, I will not consider paying $330 for another appointment. What if I got hit by a car? I will remain with my therapist in DC whom I know, trust and respect.

It is my preference that patients be in counseling, not just on meds. Robyn has been my "go to" resource for more than 10 years. Her expertise in and sensitivity to Women's Health issues have made her an invaluable resource. She is collaborative and accessible. It has been my pleasure to work with her and I look forward to continuing this collaboration.

As a healthcare professional, I highly Robyn Brickel - she is a superb therapist. She is professional, educated, intelligent, dedicated, caring, and a true advocate for her patients. She is up to date on best practices. She works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure her patients receive the best, most holistic care. She assists patients in finding the right therapist if they are out of her area. She truly cares about the mental health of all patients and communities!
