Rock Hall Luxe Lodging

We decided to splurge for our 25th wedding anniversary and spend the weekend at Rock Hall. It was worth it! We went in April,when the weather was still frosty one day,65 degrees the next. This was fine,since it allowed us to light the fireplace at night. However,I'm sure it is even better during the summer when you can go in the lovely pool and hot tub,as well as use the tennis court. The grounds are very nice,including a short hiking trail. The house is well appointed and has a billiard room, a small fitness room,and a movie theatre- complete with candy and popcorn. The host,Michael,is very accommodating and puts out a lovely spread in the morning. He also is a mixologist and served us drinks and cheese and fruit when we arrived Friday night at 8:30. He also served us drinks and cocktail shrimp before we left for our special anniversary dinner at a historic restaurant nearby that he made reservations at for us. We'd love to go back!

Rock Hall is an architecturally superb property with an ambience that is unmatched in the Litchfield Hills. Somewhere between a manorial airbnb and a true inn, Rock Hall's main suites on the second floor are extraordinary. Not for everyone, but really you should consider a stay.

Luxury, elegance in a warm and inviting inn. Our stay was beyond our expectations. From the moment we drove up the driveway we knew we in for a very special treat. We were greeted at the front door by, Michael, the innkeeper. A fire was roaring in the magnificent fireplace and everywhere we turned we knew we had made the right choice for a romantic get-a-way. Our room (Chamber 1) was so beautiful and comfortable that we had a hard time leaving. Our breakfasts, made expertly by Michael, not only nourished our bodies but added to the beauty of eating in the dining room. Michael was the perfect host, with great stories of the history of this beautiful inn, providing delectable snacks, mixing whatever drink we asked for, and with a wealth of excellent info about the area sites and restaurants. Our private yoga class and massages added to our wonderful weekend. While this was a romantic get-a-way for us... we're looking forward to bringing our family with us on our next stay.

I was disappointed to learn that a visitor who had simply come for a tour of Rock Hall and who had spent approximately 30 minutes on the property came away with such a negative impression. We treat every Rock Hall visitor with respect and want them to have a better time here than they would anywhere else. Michael and I and all our staff work hard to make sure that happens. Rest assured that any and all visitors to our award-winning property are encouraged to enjoy all our world-class facilities which include relaxing on our chaises and any other seating on our grounds or in the manor house - guests are welcome to smoke in our designated smoking area and use an ashtray!

The breakfast was amazing. Our hosts, Michael and Stella were wonderful. The place was beautiful and they even had an apple orchard to pick some fresh apples. Did I mention a really fun pinball machine? We would stay here again
