Robin has made and decorated this 200 year old building to be amazing! She really out did herself! The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you would need and the claw foot bathtub is great for soaking! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I stayed at The Amselhaus while attending a family wedding in Lakeville. We are from Woodbury, so rather local and have family in friends in nearby Kent. We had never heard of The Amselhaus until looking for a place to stay. What an absolute gem and an incredible surprise - how could we not have heard of such a beautiful bed and breakfast. The suite was lovingly renovated by Robin the owner, who is very nice and willing to share her stories of the makeover! Every room was gorgeous with a beautiful porch to sit outside and listen to the river. We were in the South Suite - two beautiful bedrooms - lovely bathroom complete with a claw footed tub. The kitchen had everything you could need - not to mention the warm homemade chocolate chip cookies waiting for us upon arrival. If you are looking for a wonderful stay at a very reasonable price - do visit Robin and The Amselhaus, it is an amazing place!!!!

Although we did not end up staying at The Amselhaus, I can assure you that Robin is a wonderful host and innkeeper. I called to try to book a room for my boyfriend who was coming off the Appalachian Trail somewhere nearby due to terrible rain and threat of tornado. Robin immediately jumped into action and spent 45 minutes trying to find him on nearby roads. As it turns out, he received a ride to a neighboring town and landed some 15 miles away. Robin's graciousness and kind assistance was much appreciated and we are only sorry that he did not get to spend the night...this time. We will certainly go out of our way to stay here in the future, it is rare to find such wonderful hospitality in the age of chain hotels!
