Sorry no feedback for ferry visited in winter but the view is good n nice place for bird watching. Carry your food/water etc. as in winters the shops are closed n you will get nothing.

When I lived in Middletown and worked in East Hartford, I loved taking this ferry. Shirt but peaceful trip.

Very nice spot to relax by the water. The views are nice and the ferry still runs. Throw back to back in the days. Shad Row offers food also.

Although I am disappointed by the CT river very often having high water levels, the ferry is an awesome experience and mode of transportation for a cyclist (and probably other vehicle users as well). The fare is cheap and the men who run it are definitely great and welcoming people. You can even sign up to get email notifications if the ferry is running/closed, for those who depend on it when not using a motorized vehicle.
