Sahara Cafe

I feel like this place is kind of a secret. It is so good!!! I love their sage tea hot or iced. In the winter, Manitou slows down and I have happy memories of spending a good amount of time just sipping tea in here and addressing my Christmas cards while watching the snow fall. The staff is so friendly. I love everything I've ordered, but when I'm having a sweet tooth, their baklava is unmatched. 5 stars from this happy local!

Impressed by delicious food at descent price, especially for the area, and phenomenal service. I got iced sage tea with my meal on a whim, and it was the best thing ever! The servers kept refilling my glass - I've never seen so hydrated :)

I hate to give such a bad review to a restaurant I have enjoyed going to for years. The waitress was so unwelcoming when she me if I was dining in, I wanted to ask her if it was going to be a problem. I told her no, I was eating here and I ordered a Sahara sandwich and a water. She charged me up front and I gave $2.33 tip on $8.33 tab. She later handed a bag with a sandwich and no water and walked away. There was no way to reach her at that point. I had to go in the kitchen and ask the cook for some cucumber sauce. I finally flagged the waitress down for a plate and and she brought me one for a coffee cup which would not hold the sandwich, so the food’s all over the table. No water to wash it down. I gave up on the waitress and went back to the cook for a water. Then I had to ask the waitress for silverware. She never apologized. Cold food. The staff has gotten worse and worse. My last waiter kept calling me 'Boss'? Prior to that I liked the guys that served my family and that was part of the fun. My 12-year-old son even tipped one of the waiters because he thought he liked him so much. What happened? Must be a new owner. I had respect for the last owner and remember complimenting him. I used to bring out of town visitors because of the food in the environment. There are other options for Mediterranean food with a welcoming staff.

Always delicious. The falafel is crisp on the outside and soft n fluffy on the inside. Every time we've been here, the service has been faster than any other place I've been to. And the Will Rogers, definitely try that!
