Sorry to say, my experience here was less than good. After 5 weeks, and 4 trips over the Newport Bridge, the 3rd set of glasses I finally got, work about as well as what I would get at the dollar store, not the $270 I paid, and the other $500 they billed the insurance company. Wasted my time, gas, tolls, and only offered an "I'm sorry". I would have thought that as my wife and I were new clients, driving over there, they would have been more accommodating. We won't be back.

I loved Sakonnet Eye Care. Had my very first visit today for eye exam and glasses, they were very accommodating and answered every question. I had to pay some out-of-pocket fees, but that's just insurance. I encountered 4 people, reception, basic exam and info, the doctor and finally glasses person. They were exceptional.

Excellent eye exam, highly professional and very thorough. The front office staff were super nice and helpful. Dr Gavin wil be my go to eye doctor from now on!

Terrible experience with the business office; shady and lazy. Go else where! For a routine eye exam, lenses and frames, they had us pay in full up front ($500+) and then billed the insurance co. to refund us (seemed odd). We actually give them the wrong insurance co. info at first but corrected shortly after. The insurance co. was happy to work with us and Sakonnet to resolve and process as an in-network claim, but Sakonnet refused to resubmit the claim. The business mgr. actually told me that she didn't want to do the extra legwork and that they get more money if the patient pays in full rather than going through the insurance claim. I was shocked she said that seeing as it is probably a legal issue or at least insurance payment agreement violation. No complaints with the actual doctor, but Sakonnet would be better off with a new business mgr. who doesn't lose patients for the doctor.
