We live local and stay here often, We do a lot of KOA camping in our area and this is one of the nice ones around. IT will be the most expensive one around also for the area it is in. it is by far a San Francisco KOA as its approx. 1hr drive threw bumper to bumper traffic. The KOA is located in a cow pasture and is surrounded by cow farms that store manure and during the summer the smell is unbearable sometime. beware they charge you for anything they can get away with and more. want an end site, more money, want to be close to the playground to keep an eye out for your kids, more money. want more space around your site as most are very small/ tight sites, more money. When you finally find the site you like they want to charge you $20 more to keep another KOA agent from stealing the site and giving it to someone else that will pay them more for it, they call it site guaranty. All campers call it a ripoff!! want to bring anyone but yourself camping? they charge you for every person that is camping or even visiting for the day. You are the only free one. again the KOA is nice but for $145 per night to park your own trailer on a small pad is a rip off at any location. since the kids took over ownership of this KOA after the father died long ago it is all about how much money they can get out of you before you leave instead of just trying to give the locals a nice place to come at an decent price. you don't have to become millionaires in one year guys!

A special place for family campers, but just fine for us older folks, too. Lots of generous spacing, almost all with grass. Some sites with patios. Many very large common spaces with grass. Ample shared amenities. Well-organized, friendly staff. Best location on North Bay. Petaluma is charming, quirky, with some pretty good dining options.

This will be probably be the most expensive KOA that you will find and they charge you for everything possible which is the case with most all KOA's. After staying there for two weeks($1000), I invited 8 family and friends out to the site for a BBQ on May 12. At 11:00 that morning, they closed the park to all visitors because they had already let too many people in and they don't have adequate parking for busy weekends. After all the prep, we cancelled the BBQ. This is a nice park and you will probably be satisfied with you stay but don't depend on being able to invite friends out to the park on weekends. It's the only park in the area.

exceeded our expectations, many fun activities for kids, pets and adults. Stayed here longer than planed.
Their late check in did not work and we had to figure it out on our own and check in the next day.
The climbing wall was closed throughout our stay.

Pretty solid KOA. We have stayed at quite a few now and this one is up there for the good ones. Decent pool and hot tub and a good bouncy pillow and climbing wall for the kids. Washrooms and showers were always kept clean as were the grounds. Well stocked store and friendly staff. Good location if visiting Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Marin Headlands, San Francisco, etc. but beware that traffic can be pretty nuts if you are not used to it. We visited from BC for spring break and the weather was awesome and would not hesitate to return. A little bit pricey but I think everything is in this area and there are not a lot of campsites given the population of the surrounding area as well as the close proximity to San Francisco so I figure it’s a supply and demand thing and land can’t be cheap either.
