I bid on a painting on live auctioneers/Sarasota Estate Auctions. I won it since there were no competing bids. The Auction House overcharged me by $100 according to their bid increment structure. "Once payment for an item has been paid to the auction house we release the items to the shippers **we recommend** on the invoice immediately unless otherwise noted by the buyer." A month and many calls later we received this from the "recommended shipper" : Thank you for contacting us regarding your purchase from the Sarasota Estate Auction. At this time the Sarasota Estate Auction will be releasing items to us by payment priority and at random. Besides the fraudulent overcharge I now get jerked around by the shipper in collusion with the auction house and charged with twice to triple the amount of a reasonable and customary charge. Sarasota Auction House refused to release to any subsequent shippers and lied about getting me three quotes from shippers who when contacted had no clue. They maliciously and slanderously stated that I "refused" shipping and therefore had a contractual right to keep the painting. Since 2009 my feedback from sellers has been 100% positive and my professional reputation is stellar as well except for the low life at Sarasota. I will provide correspondence upon request.

Fair and honest auction house. Complete transparency with all bidders. I like the classic live auction set up.

Had a great time at the auction, loved the live auction and the food that they have for bidders. Will definitely be coming back for future sales
