Shalel Lounge

Beautiful place with great ambiance, food, and drinks. Good for romantic dinners OR for meeting friends. I love it here and it’s never over crowded or too loud. Highly recommend.

What a pleasant surprise. Great atmosphere in this walk-down restaurant space. It was quiet, intimate, unusual featuring excellent, affordable Moroccan cuisine and a lovely wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The lamb dishes were really good -- hard to find decent lamb anywhere in the City.

This place is great if you want to have an intimate evening. There's a lot of seating with some privacy. The food and drinks were good.

I was a bit worried when encountering the pitch blackness on the little staircase in, but the dim atmosphere proved to be cozy and delightful, the lycheetini was amazing, and the small plates unique and fresh. The server was friendly and prompt with taking our order, the music complemented the decor and wasn’t too loud. Definitely plan to return.

I personally love this place because I found nothing wrong at first. I can say I regret going there. I went with a group of friends tonight, well yesterday. For me everything is all about "Customer Service" & that is why I'm rating 1 star...our waitress was very rude and unprofessional. I felt so low class, it seems like just because people look simple and broke doesn't always mean we are. We had to ask for water, She didn't ask us if we wanted to order drinks, or was we ready to eat or order food. Everytime we needed her we had to get up and get her. I quote she asked us "Can u Hurry up, it's very busy. I have other customers to take care off". Who wants to feel that type of discomfort whenever they go out to out to dine. I hate to say it but I feel and sensed the racism. I'm sorry I don't remember her features but I'm sure she's from Ukraine. I live in Hells Kitchen and I dine often I've never had such undelighted experience before.I will never go back here or recommend this place to any of my friends of color. I am highly over the top insulted & frustrated that my night was miserable and ruined in a way, because I believe that if I'm paying I want my service!!!!
