The Lobby Lounge

The view was amazing but the drink and service slightly let it down. This could be an absolutely breathe taking bar in NYC but is just falling short.

Afternoon tea - especially around Christmas when they do Nutcracker Themed Tea - with a view of Central Park - is so worth it! Beautiful views and setup, and delightful treats. Perfect for a special occasion.

(June 2016) It's known 2 have beautiful Central Park views this is very true. Nice to get an overhead perspective in a quiet setting. Settled on some drinks as we just returned from a large meal elsewhere but the place and views were very relaxing too relaxing for someone with the itis, just wanted to sleep like a baby. Lovely decorated place and prices are reflective of that and the area. only gripe was that a CC used by my friend at this place was found to have fraudulent charges later this day he hated to think that someone here did it but was a possibility because the card was only used here and in a cab. they took the card to the back and was there for a while until he had to ask for it back definitely no offense to this place just individuals that makes these choices. Would like to return to try their meals.

Had a 3-star High tea experience at this 5-Star Hotel. The breathtaking views of NYs Central Park were the only part of our afternoon that earned a 5-star rating. When making the reservation, we equested and were promised an assortment of vegetarian sandwiches. Neither the host nor the waitress were aware of this request when we arrived. Upon ordering, we were told that vegeatarian sandwiches would be no problem to prepare. Our tea, which was delicious, arrived so far in advance of our sandwich/pastry tray that it was cold by the time the food arrived. Initially we were served a falafel appetizer that was ordered by the folks at the table next to us. We figured it was the "vegetarian" portion of our tea. Next the sandwich trays arrived and the "vegetarian" plate had two chicken salad sandwiches and two egg salad sandwiches. When we informed one waitress (not our main waitress but someone who came to check on our order), of the errors, she pulled away the falafel dish, which we could have eaten, along with the egg salad sandwiches, which we could have also eaten. Our main waitress then returned with 2 more egg salad sandwiches and two pumpernickel rounds that had a scoop of jarred relish on top of them. They tasted as bad as they looked. Our waitress did apologize for the confusion and errors and did bring us a complimentary falafel plate along with vegetarian samosas that the chef prepared. In the end, all the sandwiches and treats were very good, but the experience was ruined because of the service errors. It takes both quality and service to fulfill a 5-star expectation. This experience lacked both.
