It's true what they say: you never forget how to ride a bike. While we were enjoying a week at Lakeside Inn Hotel and Casino, the genial guy at Shoreline Adventure Center set me up with an age and weight appropriate mountain bike for far less than an Andrew Jackson per hour. After at least 20 years out of the saddle and a wobbly 1/8th mile or so to get my balance back, I was bound for the Nevada Beach Day Use Area where I spent several contemplative minutes enjoying the serenity and the fall breezes on my face. Next trip: hit the trail every day after a day of acclimating to the altitude.

Great location to rent cross country skis or snowshoes with Kahle Meadow right across the street.

Awesome little shop to grab a snack before you hit the trail. Awesome trail maps as well.
