STAY AWAY from this place! I worked for this agency from 1997-2009. STAY AWAY! The staff is unprofessional, there are no raises, and it contains shifty management. I have 12 years worth of terrors, however, I will write it in an easy to read format.
Amy V, the director of some of the programs, is a morbidly obese woman who blows bubble gum at staff meetings. Never, ever, ever let her know you are happily employed or are working out well. She will find some reason to kill it. We, the employees, were working well at a site. Suddenly, we were required by Jason E. a team lead, that were required to redo our progress notes every single day. So, with 14 clients, we were writing 28 pages a day. Some notes were up to 7 pages long. That was considered acceptable. When we asked why we were required to write this bizarre plethora of documentation, he simply stated "Amy and Marcie (the supervisor) are making me do this to you." When this was addressed with Rita M in Human Resources, Rita stated, "We know exactly what Marcie is doing. That is why we sent her down there." Our supervisor before Marcie H, was Christine Z. She was transferred over as a disciplinary problem from another site due to her sleeping with the African American employees at her previous site; a behavior which continued.
Supervisors came to work drunk. There was one supervisor Donna T, who literally drank herself to death. She was terminated for marking down hours on the timesheet that she did not work.
There was an employee named Lucius who worked in Human Resources. He dated a group home employee. He slipped her purchase orders, and she went to Target on 7th and Camelback to buy items. They refurnished their entire apartment on Southwest Behavioral Health. Carmen R can confirm this.
Two employees, Morgan H and Brian S had approximately 40 years experience between the two of them. Their positions were eliminated, they were required to apply all over for lower positions, and they were rehired and given more work for less money. Both employees have since resigned.
On August 9, 200? (year forgotten), I was cut in the van at Human Resources by a sharp edge on the seatbelt. The HR van had NO FIRST AID KIT!! One had to be borrowed from the office. Then, the van stalled out. It was a joke. I was bleeding so badly, it required 3 staff to continue the first aid. Carmen R was one of them. This is all documented in their accident and incident reports.
The organization is disorganized, unprofessional, and unpleasant. With respect to the unprofessionalism of the bubble gum blowing director, the purchase order rip off, the fraudulent hours on the time sheet, the alcoholism, I would suggest another agency. Try the Arizona State Hospital (ASH).
As a postscript, Amy V, the morbidly obese director, ran into a former supervisor at Einstein Bagels and Harkins Theater on 19th and Missouri (2 separate occasions). Amy stated, "I think we made some mistakes." STAY AWAY from this place. :(
