Springfield Police Department

Have lived in Springfield for around 8 years now and have to say that I have always had a good experience with Springfield Police. When you call in to inquire about something the staff is always ready to answer your questions. The police officers are always very professional and helpful and I thank them for keeping us safe.

The Springfield police have been harassing my 21yr old son Jordan Brewer who is half black. He was beat up by 6 police officers and they beat him so badly they refused to take a mugshot of him to protect themselves! I've contacted the NAACP and a lawyer about this. They have also maced him in the face for just sitting at a McDonald's. He now suffers from major PTSD and needs help badly. The police here have been racially profiling people for many years..and its time for this to STOP!! If my son gets killed by these cops..we have everything documented. BE AWARE AND GET BADGE NUMBERS AND NAMES! ALL LIVES MATTER!

I want to recognize Officer Clausen (sp?) This man is a pure Angel and NOT like the egotistical norm that is out there! He went ABOVE AND BEYOND ! I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Well pretty typical! I am not sure why I would expect anything more from Springfield MO finest. Stayed at a weekly rental, I went to the office because my car was damaged, someone tried to break into my room, there were bugs everywhere in the room. I went to the front desk to ask for an itemized receipt and expressed my concerns he started yelling at me refused to give me a receipt said I was being a trouble maker then called the cops on me. Officer shows up and OF COURSE as soon as he see's that I'm A BLACK FEMALE; He wouldn't let me say a word he put his finger in my face like I was some kind of dog. I told him he didn't have to do and that I'm a person too. He refused to listen to anything I had to say or take a report about my damaged car. Then because I was so upset he threatened to arrest me because I was yelling about the situation. He was asking me questions like I was a criminal. I GUESS BLACK LIVES DON'T MATTER In Springfield. I'm surprised they didn't shoot me over this.

I posted someone's bail before noon and it is past 5 pm and they still have not processed him or released him. Why did I spend all that money so he could sit in jail for hours upon hours longer? Also, every time I've called to ask for an update the officer who answers is hateful and short and cuts me off before I can finish talking. I have christmas plans that are now ruined. This is the first christmas since my dad passed, WHO WAS AN OFFICER OF THE LAW FOR OVER 20 YEARS and the officers working the jail have done nothing but make it even harder. How inconsiderate. Do you not have family and loved ones? Can you not have empathy for other human beings?
