had a wonderful experience here. the pandemic has basically slashed all these stores sales as the offices near them are mostly closed. ended up going here in the evening and there wasn't a soul in sight, other than "Tony" the employee that helped me. he was extremely kind and offered amazing service. they were out of turkey but the roast beef was great. will be back.
Something recently changed. The service was slow and now it is at a crawl. Plus they have no clue how to make a wrap. They basically ball it up in the middle. Hopefully things improve. Went back today it took 30 minutes to get a sandwich. There is no customer service or sense of urgency. The only thing keeping them open is that there is not another option within walking distance. Tried again and still bad.
I ordered a sub for pickup. I arrived at the store to find nobody behind the counter and a long line around the dining room waiting to order. I assumed someone went to the back to get something and went to the express pickup by the register. About 5 minute in someone in line had enough, grabbed a bag of chips and a bottled drink and left. Another guy came in for a pickup order and asked where everyone was. I told him I hadn't seen anyone since I walked in 8 minutes ago. He then pointed out that his sub and my sub were sitting on the counter, half prepared with a fly on each one. He then decided to go through the door to the employee area and see if he could find someone. There was nobody back there. He then went out the back door and found the employee sitting outside. They both came back inside, and him and I promptly asked the employee if he could re-make our subs because they were sitting out for so long and had a fly on them. The employee said "yeah" and threw them away. He then went to the register, keyed in some things and printed off some things, mumbled about quitting and left out the back again. I could not wait any longer and had to leave to get back to work, no sub and my money gone because I already paid when I ordered. This location is always understaffed, and with the lunch crowd, 3 people should really be there. There is no way one person alone could take care of this, and I understand being burnt out, but I have never had such a terrible restaurant experience.
Slowest location I’ve ever experienced. Student conference happening and 1 person working then 2nd employee arrived moving slower than ever and 10 people in line. Took 1 hour to get food. Stayed only because my students were all in the area and I had to stay close. Then they tan of of items and never announced it while in line
Don't come during lunch if you have a time constraint. Employees weren't fazed by the 20+ person line. People walking in and walking out seeing the line. Pace of employees was infuriatingly slow. Probably won't return unless I see no line prior. Edit: different set of employees, was much better and three employees were present vs two.
Employee Oshea is completely terrible and should be fired immediately. He had a horrible attitude the entire time making sandwitches, was UNBELIEVABLY slow and uncaring, and told customers that started to complain that "he can make them as fast as he wants." When I walked in, there was 1 person ahead of me, and by the time I left there was a line out the door of at least 10 people due to how slow he really was. It was clear he didnt know how to make them properly either. His manager is Denise who wasn't there but should know, Oshea lost you many customers in the store today. And if I come back to see him still working there, I will never return as well as my company. It was the worst service I've experienced in my life. The counter girl working with him was polite and respectful.
7/15/2021: I came into the store around 12:26 PM to get lunch and witnessed a customer acting out and being extremely rude to the two subway employees. She was insulting them and even suggested that one of the employees was not smart enough to know how to make a sandwich. They did their best to ignore her poor behavior and to keep the sandwich making process moving. However, she continued berating the employees and then through her chip bag onto the glass case, I thought that she was going to hit the employee with the chips. I knew that if I had engaged with her, she would have turned her sour attitude and actions against me, and I would have no counter to protect me from this individual. Shame on the woman who decided that her day was so bad that she would try to ruin everyone else’s around her. I am submitting this review because those two employees do not deserve to be treated in that manner. Their service was wonderful, and I spent my time with them apologizing for what I had witnessed and thanking them for showing up to work so that I was able to have a lunch today.
You guys are losing so much profit, by being understaffed. There’s only 1 employee and at least 8 people waiting and several other food-seeking individuals came to the restaurant checked the line and walked away. That’s $60 gone in the busy rush hour of lunch alone. Not to mention 20+ minute waiting time to begin asking what you would wish on the sandwich. Not a smart move, Subway.
I just moved to downtown Phoenix and all three visits I’ve had to this location have been awful customer service experiences. First visit, I requested a cold cut deluxe, but the sandwich artist cut the meat where he threw away 25% of the meat I paid for. Second visit, I asked for extra mayonnaise , and rather than squeeze the bottle for extra mayonnaise, I was told “I’ll just give you some packets”. Finally, today, I walk in and find that they are not enforcing the mask policy uniformly. Some customers they are adamant about wearing masks, where right in front of that very customer in the same line a customer is wearing no mask and they say nothing to that person. For anyone in management that cares, I could provide dates and times of each incident and can describe the employee, as one of them is a repeat offender.
Placed an online order today for 2 foot longs and when I came to pick it up there was only 1. I waited for them to make the second sandwich and left. When’s got back to work and unpacked my BLT. To my disappointment, what was supposed to be a BLT with ham and provolone only came with ham, lettuce, and cheese. So disappointed. I tried to call the store many times to complain and get a refund for the $2charge for bacon but no one answered. Won’t be coming back.
