Have had two very good experiences getting new tires at this location. Both times they were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Definitely recommend if you need new tires. Check their website for promotions too.

I have never felt so taken advantage of by a car repair shop! I went to Sullivan's Tire in Newton for a flat tire that I incurred from driving through a construction zone in Boston. I let the employee know when I first went in that the flat was due to this accident of driving through construction with exposed potholes/manholes, etc. Sullivan's took me back, and showed me that there was $1800 of damage(!), but also let me know that I could get reimbursed through the city of Boston for damage done in construction - which was very helpful information. I asked them to do the repairs, with the assumption that everything they had shown me was accident related.
Over the course of 3 days, I spoke with representatives of Sullivan's, keeping them posted on the status of my repairs and reimbursement. Boston required a second estimate, since the damage was $500+ so I contacted my insurance company. I called Sullivan's to let them know my insurance provider was coming out for an estimate, and could they wait to finish repairs. Sullivan's told me they had everything damaged off the car, and would finish the repair, but keep the broken parts for my insurance to see for their estimate. I booked a rental.
I received a call from my insurance, letting me know that Sullivan's confirmed with them the morning of the estimate that almost all of the damage, with the exception of the original flat tire and a few other things, was general wear and tear of my car! Since the accident damage was so low, it cannot be covered by insurance, or the city.
Sullivan's tires had multiple opportunities to explain to me that the damage they were reviewing was not a result of my accident. I had spoken on the phone and in person over 5x, explaining my situation, providing the information that I was seeking insurance because of how much damage was accident related, that I was there for accident damage, and that I was seeking a second estimate. Instead, they told me that I had $1800 damage, completed it before my insurance estimate was completed, and told my insurance it was mostly general wear and tear. My insurance also pointed out they couldn't cover the $600 of labor I was charged for the parts that were not accident related.
My experience was a blatant example of Sullivans misrepresenting my damage. I highly recommend second opinions if getting work done at Sullivan's Tires in Newton.

EDIT: The manager called me and took me in the very next day. The computers were still down, still no appointments were being taken; but they did fix my tire while I was waiting. Error recovery was handled quite professionally and well.
PRIOR - The service is not just poor - they simply do not want you there. The store seems to be run and managed so grotesquely that I wonder if this is not a money laundering operation and if the tire store is just a front... I came in for service THREE times, and all THREE times they turned me down. Once - because they were too busy and could not take me the same day; the second time - their balance was broken; and the last time, even though they accepted my appointment, because their front office computer was down.

I've always felt that I could count on these folks for fair, reasonable and prompt service. Thus far mostly related to tires, but plan to try other services soon.
