Sweetz

I rarely feel inclined to leave a review but this bakery earned it. My son has several food allergies but we still wanted him to have a cake for his first birthday. After calling all around the DC area, I was pleasantly surprised that a bakery right here in Leesburg has a vegan and nut-free option. We ordered a vegan sweet potato cake (just what I wanted) - admittedly, I did not have high expectations given the requirements - but, oh man, the cake was SO GOOD! All of the party guests felt the same way. Absolutely mind boggling to me that the cake was vegan. It was moist, flavorful, and the icing tasted great. I actually think I liked this cake better than most non-vegan cakes. Job well done by Sweetz!

The best cupcakes I have ever Eaten! Period. The bread is very sponge and felt very delicate to eat. The filling is where all the real taste comes from. I usually dont like fillings as they are either too had or too creamy. But this filling was just right with texture and flavor. My favorite is Vanilla but they have whole bunch of flavors which should be tasted. Yes this place is extremely expensive but I feel it is worth every penny. I do have one complaint though the filling is also inside the bread part of the cupcake, since the bread is also so deliciaus I feel the filling gets overwhelming sometimes.

When my fiancé and I went in months ago to ask about cupcakes for our wedding, the staff was sweet and accommodating. We corresponded with the manager a few weeks ago, and she assured us that they could make cupcakes for our guests, as well as provide for our guests' allergies. This afternoon when I called, the manager cut me off, acted irritated, asked a rude, non-related question about the wedding, and then said it was "really last minute for them to make our wedding cupcakes." even though they had already agreed, and corresponded with us about pricing. It was the kind of exchange that makes a customer feel that they don’t matter. Anyone that is getting married knows how stressful a time it can be, and every other vendor I've communicated with has been calming and kind. I will not go back into Sweetz Bakery.

Full disclosure, I didn't come here for cupcakes and don't care about cupcakes. The macaron I bought ($1.75 ea) were not very good at all and were served cold. The flavor was fine but the texture was not there. Coffee was okay, but they only had basic coffee.

Super disappointed. We went to Sweetz on Saturday, following dinner with family and friends. Sweetz was a special treat for a family friend who has been hospitalized for cancer for roughly two weeks. The poor guy has hardly eaten for weeks now and as a special request he wanted Sweetz cupcakes. We got there about 75 mins before closing and they had already blocked off the area with seats for cleaning. We realize the policy is that anyone arriving within 90 mins of closing would have to be carryout. We explained that there was a guest with cancer and he wouldn't be able to stand for very long and the staff refused to be understanding and told us that it was carryout only and he wasn't allowed to sit. We tried to explain that he just wanted cupcakes but they refused. We reached out to management the following day and were told that its listed on the website and there are no exceptions. Unfortunate that 1 exception couldn't be made 15 mins shy of the cutoff for a man just craving a cupcake.
