TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter

I can't believe all the bad reviews, nor do I even know what people are talking about in them. We've adopted 3 animals from TAPS in the last 2 years: 2 dogs and 1 cat. The facility has been clean and spotless every time we've visited. It's obvious the staff and volunteers all truly care about the animals and want the best homes for them. It's true that it's hard to reach them over the phone and the applications can take a while to process, but they're severely understaffed so I get it. Everyone has always been super polite and nice to us in person and over the phone. We were rejected for one dog, but the reason made complete sense and I understood (he got adopted into a loving home a week later too). Their policies for adoption are reasonable. Their prices are great compared to other shelters. Our animals have all been healthy. One had kennel cough that they treated and he was fine shortly after adoption. I love that they know the animals and try to match them with compatible families. My husband and I both work full time so we were looking for a dog that would be low energy. A volunteer kindly pointed us away from a hyper terrier mix and towards one of the labs we have now. I'm not sure what else I can say to defend this place and say it's an amazing shelter. 5 stars all around and I'll never stop recommending them.

I like to come visit the cats and let them attack me with their love. I can't fill my apartment with 30 cats so I live my dream through them. They take good care of the animals they house and can proudly boast being a truly no kill shelter!

There is not one thing I would change about TAPS. I have adopted 2 kittens from them and the staff was great, both times. I love the time they take to make the tough decisions to put each pet in the home that will be most successful. Some folks probably will be great parents but the time isn't right. This insures a long and happy relationship and not one dictated by circumstances. Great job, TAPS.

Should always give a chance that's what they do at taps wonderful volunteers! And great animals of all sizes
