Adopted our little guy 2 years ago through wishbone. Wouldn't change it for the world but the miscommunication was terrible. We set up a meeting at an adoption event, we drove over an hour there to find out he wasn't there and the adoption specialists had no idea about our meeting. So frustrating... On the way home they called me and said he was there. We almost didn't turn around but we did and adopted our puppy. We also inquired about our puppy's brother beforehand and was told he was unavailable for adoption. We show up to our meeting to find out he was very much available for adoption, but wasn't at the meeting. We didn't push the issue but originally we really wanted to keep them together. We would probably adopt from them again because in the end it was worth it. However, the situation was extremely frustrating to deal with

I would honestly give this place negative stars if possible.
Don't get your hopes up too high while waiting for 2 of the 7 days a week the facility will be open for 2 hours for "public viewing" ; they don't allows visitors to see the dogs, instead they bring the dog to you (as to not upset the dogs in cages).
So after coming in and realizing that, I spend some time looking at pictures and descriptions of dogs and pick out one I would like to see. After waiting 15 minutes for the one available staff member to decide she was going to help, I let her know about the dog I wished to see. The volunteer tells me she won't even show the dog to me because my home is not ideal for it, even though she spent no time at all learning about the home situation for a dog.
I would recommend going to the Humane Society or McClean County Animal Control instead, those volunteers will treat you much more kindly and actually let you adopt a dog.
You would think volunteers want to find homes for the dogs, instead they are a lot more interested in stereotyping people and trying to match the right dog with what they consider to be the right person, instead of allowing you to choose your own dog.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO WISH BONE CANINE RESCUE!

Great organization! We adopted our puppy from here. The process was great and you can see their passion for placing dogs in the right homes. Highly recommend.
