I just moved here last week, and so far we love it here. Staff has been very easy to get ahold of… The apartments have a lot of natural light, both bedrooms have ceiling fans with a light, the appliances were brand new, new wood floor throughout the front area… neighbors seem friendly as well. Awesome place for a little family to live. :
I’ve lived here for two years now, and my experience overall has been pretty great. I’ll start with cons but there aren’t many so I can give an honest review. There are some minor issues living on the bottom floor like the neighbors upstairs bathrooms will Occasionally flood mine or there are bugs/water damage. I can definitely hear through the walls but that is expected with living next to and under other units. Life has its inconveniences and apartment living is never perfect. One time my car was broken into but I still feel safe here as a single woman. Now for the pros...Maintenance has always been extremely prompt and friendly to me. They are good at their jobs. The office staff are warm and understanding. The pool is nice and during covid the staff was extremely understanding about financial problems and they even worked to get the pool open so the children here and myself could still have that little quintessential piece of summer available to us. Other huge pros are the price and location, it’s comfortable and affordable and for the same price I don’t think you will find something as nice as this in the surrounding area. I love having laundry in my unit and the huge closets. Overall I do recommend living here and have loved my time here with the The elms.
Its not bad for the price. This was one of the cheapest options east of 270 in the Easton/Gahanna area a couple years ago. Apartments closest to Appian way are furthest from the highway, would recommend those. It is a very convenient and quiet area. Lot of families and single people. Very diverse. Mix of all types of ethnicities, ages, and food smells. Quick access to Easton and 270. Across the street from L brands/Bath and Body Works and Express DCs. Loved being so close to Costco and Trader Joes. Tons of restaurants, shopping, and bars within a couple miles. Its apartment living, walls are a little thin so you can hear your neighbors, but its not too bad. Until our upstairs neighbors got a dog that barked for hours on end and WFH started. We had white noise machines/air filters to drown out sounds, highly recommend. We like dogs, so did not mind but there are a lot of pitbulls. What we did mind was all the dog poop in the green areas so watch out, especially after the ice melts. Appreciated poop bags availability, and they were building a dog park when we were leaving. There are many 420 friendly neighbors. I had seen some police patrol every once in a while to check on things. We had a good move out experience, our puppy tore up carpet but they ended up replacing it due to age without charging us, so much appreciated. They came and fixed things pretty quick for us whenever we needed. Our car was rummaged through 1 time while there for a couple of years. That happens every where though. Currently paying almost twice the rent for a much nicer place by "fancy" New Albany, but there have been more car break ins here than pre pandemic Elms.
Hard to get ahold of their office, they don't return calls or emails so don't bother leaving them. Their website needs a lot of work, very misleading information in the application process, terrible formatting overall. A 5th grader could do better. They also are extremely unprofessional in their replies to reviews, often releasing people's personal information and business, and break Google terms of service with reviews from the owner, Meghan Bluntschly conflict of interest. Based on simple business practices being broken, and how they handle your data: you shouldn't expect them to do anything right.
It's a good neighborhood, neighbors are nice and the staff are extremely professional. Whenever a problem occurs they do a good job fixing it. However sometimes the sewage leaks into the downstairs which isn't nice. They always fix it but it would be nice to not happen. The insulation is also terrible, and sometimes our light fixtures get a little screwy. Overall it's decent. Nothing to write home about but it's not a bad place to live. Especially on a budget.
Biggest reasons to never rent here: 1.You will literally hear close to everything your neighbor above you says. There is no apartment I've lived in where it was anywhere near this bad. The cheap rent does not make up for this. 2. They are almost never in the office. Response times for maintenance are slow. 3. They'll rent you a unit with a broken water heater so your first few showers are in the cold. 4. The neighborhood watch and maintenance people seem to think it's a good idea to stakeout A place if the resident went outside to smoke a joint. They will literally sit there like they're actual police to try to catch you again. It's like they're encouraging you to stink up your apartment instead. I've never experienced this anywhere else I've lived. 5. Few of the office staff stay around for long because the place is not terribly well run. Do not rent here.
I give this place two stars because Ashley was really nice and very professional! Other than that it wasn’t a good experience. The insulation was s terrible. I’m a guy who likes things to smell good, so to have my apartment constantly smell like the neighbors food was annoying. The washer and dryer is back to back with your neighbor with a door to close it off, so it always smells like mildew, which I bet is coming from inside the wall. If you have clothes done in the dryer, and the neighbor just so happens to be washing, then your dry clothes will end up damp and you’ll have to dry them again. Don’t even get me started on the parking. The front and middle of the apartments aren’t that bad, but in the back is a whole different story. You will hardly ever get a good parking spot close to your apartment. Or a descent one for that matter. Now I think about it, I’m going back to give this place a one star.
I have lived here for 3 years. The maintenance crew works very hard to fix everything in a timely manner. Management is awesome and very friendly! I couldn't ask for a better location, everything you could possibly need is within a very short driving distance or walking distance if you prefer. This is a very kid friendly neighborhood. If you are looking for a very affordable apartment living this is the place to go!
I love living here. Yeah, you can occasionally here your neighbors above you but that is to be expected considering the apartments are older and after all it is an apartment complex. If you want privacy, rent or buy a house. For the location, the price for a 1 bedroom is amazing! I personally think the apartments are super cute and some what updated. It's all about how you decorate so don't push this option out of the way just because it's a little outdated mostly appliances I would definitely recommend living here. I've had minimal issues since moving in in April. Plus, the staff is super friendly! My only complaint is there tends to be a lot of tenants who hangout outside in the summer time so that can be annoying not because they are necessarily loud, it's a nuisance to me for some reason.
you can find better for the price, super thin walls allows you to hear and smell everything your neighbor is doing, both my apartment and car were broken into on separate occasions, charged excessive amounts when moving out make sure you document EVERYTHING when moving in/out. Don’t move here unless you are desperate for a place to live. Only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because the office staff is friendly
