The Fairfax at Embassy Row

The Fairfax is still a work in progress, with a major part of the ground floor under renovation, work to be completed by September 2018. Rooms are clean, well equipped and attractive, as are common areas. Until renovation is complete, there is no true restaurant here. There is a bar that has some dinner items on the bar menu. There is a well equipped gym on the 2nd floor. A great location, just a block and a half off Dupont Circle.

I loved this hotel!! The Washington Historical vibe was great and my room felt homey. Bedding was awesome, great decor and my room was incredibly clean!! The work they’re doing on the hotel didn’t affect my stay at all and customer service was top-rate! Love the DuPont area- Mission Restaurant was great for happy hour and dinner, skip Darlington’s. There’s so much there- definitely will stay at the Fairfax again!!💕

We had a fantastic experience here. Staff is welcoming and professional. It was under renovation for the main foyer so that was a bit inconvenient but not a real issue. Old building that adds to the experience. Very good, would return.

Sharp service, nice large rooms; GREAT location, nice English style bar on the first floor. No restaurant for dinner, but they have a buffet breakfast which is fine but pricey; sit in Nancy Reagan's booth overlooking the hood; nice horse art; note all rooms here have a beige yellow décor, for me and others the yellow is too bright and hard to be restful, also ask for a quiet room in the back, the hotel is on busy Mass Ave and there is lots of noise. Great staff and they will remember you if you return a second time or more---I do. Winter 2018 this hotel is under renovation and construction, service has slipped a bit. Restaurant is closed they serve a cold cont. breakfast in a ballroom for now. Good location though in a historic building. Al Gore grew up in this building when it was apartments. Pres. Reagan and his wife used to dine here when it was more posh.

Very nice hotel. The area was beautiful, and the views from the room were great. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had was the rooms were not as up to date as the rest of the hotel would have one think. The two rooms we had were really just normal hotel rooms. The rest of the hotel was beautiful though, so if you want a more historical, elegant feel, this is the right hotel.
