Great lobster rolls - and even burgers.
The Highroller used to be run from a food truck, but after its success - it now has a brick and mortar store right here in Portland, Maine.
The food is delicious, with large portions. My wife had the lobster roll, and she loved it. I had the burger, which was tasty and filling - and it wasn't overcooked. The fries were great, too, and were coated with some sort of zesty spices. Prices are obviously a bit high, as lobster isn't cheap - but the prices are consistent with Portland.
Overall, this is a decent place for lunch or even a light dinner. Give it a shot.

This place was recommended by the front desk at the hotel I was staying at. Really glad I took their advice! The lobster roll was great, and beer selection on point. The service was quick, too. I really liked the curry ketchup I got with my fries.

The food here is great. The unique take on several lobster-based favorites is both refreshing and delicious. It may be a little pricey but incredibly reasonable for what you get. Honestly, compared to other places, you could argue the lobster rolls are actually cheap which is why the nearly five star rating exists. The only thing I believe holding it back would be the systems that exist in the kitchen. The wait for food is worth it, but the wait is long. As a single diner with no agenda, it was no issue. However, I can imagine many situations where a long wait would seem tedious.

As we were sitting here, I figured out how it’s so busy - people see the menu and think “how can this go wrong?” Sure, the lobster grilled cheese was good, but that was because of the cheese. The lobster wasn’t the best on anything, and the interesting combinations were not good in practice. Add on top of this the very, very on-edge staff and lack of communication on their part (you are apparently supposed to put your name on a list for a table, but there is nothing saying this, and I looked everywhere), and the experience is pretty awful. I can see what they’re going for here, and I can also see all the things that need fixed. For their sake, I hope they get it worked out. Those first-time visitors can’t sustain you forever.

I loved The Highroller! The lobster grilled cheese was amazing, as were the fries and dipping sauces. Staff was super friendly and helpful with recommending selections. Good selection of beers too!
