I was just in there for the Sickick show, and I witnessed a man trying to push his way to the front of the crowd and start yelling at a woman who had been waiting near the front for at least an hour or so. He hurled names and insults in her face, trying to get her to move so he could be one person in front of her and she stood her ground. He then hit her right in the face and tried to fight this woman. Another woman stepped in and held the angry little man off and he eventually was pushed out by the crowd because they all saw him hit her in the face. Then, a security guard proceeded to kick the women out of the club but NOT the man, and no one even said a word. Absolutely disgusting. Will never go back to a place that will kick women out who are merely defending their right to exist but will let a white man stay.
If I could rate it 0 I would; bouncers were the biggest A-holes I’ve ever encountered; I lost $150 in tickets due to their incompetence. Avoid this place like the plague if you’re lucky enough. Never again
I've seen so many shows here that I've lost count over the past 10 years. This is def. my preferred night club. I love how they keep up with everything.
Very nice venue. I was able to enjoy Tritonal this past weekend. The Local DJ's were great as was the light show for them. However when the headliner came on the lights nearly went dead... I'm not sure what happened.
The security and staff of the metro need further training in their handling of difficult situations. The use of excessive force was witnessed by myself and many others in my group of a young woman and of a man. The woman being slammed to the ground and the man’s head being forced into the brick wall. This is unacceptable etiquette regardless of the scenario or situation. It seems like the security are a group of power tripping young people who were looking for an excuse and some “excitement.” If I were the young woman, I’d certainly press charges and if cameras are on property she would likely win as would the man. Do better. It’s 2022.
Atmosphere is great and security is spot on with their jobs. Servers were great too. It is a little hard to find a good view of the performer if you're on the second floor though.
What a disaster of a night. Depending on the artist and night this venue can be either conducive to hosting open happy parties with a beautiful young vibrant crowd, or it can turn dark and scary. Saturday of this past weekend was one of those dark and scary nights. I'd like to share my story, as it reminded me that this world is not always fun and open minded. The event in question revolved around the artist known as DJ Pauly D, who also costars on the TV show The Jersey Shore. I'm not proud of the fact I was intrigued enough to pay money to see DJ Pauly, but as a gay man watching the show it was comical enough, and I was looking forward to come gym, tan, laundry bro-ing out first pumping action. At the very least it was intended to give me a good chuckle, and the guy honestly seems to take himself seriously enough it might be good. I was with about 5-10 other guys, all celebrating a birthday and in good spirits. We weren't drunk, and as we ubered there we were psyched about the group experience. Yes, I will admit we were going into an unknown for now a big group of gays was going to be treated, but we were confident we could dance and hold our own with the guys with spiked hair and muscles. What we weren't expecting was for the staff to be the problem. I can envision preparing to host this event, and it causing the security staff to consider drunken fights with meat head tank top dudes, but we were far from that. From the time we walked in we were treated with disrespect, and for no apparently good reason. We bought our regular tickets at the door, and then we remembered we had gone to Kaskade only a few months back with VIP tickets and had a wonderful time. At the kaskade event we were allowed upstairs and down, and there was a huge front and back area to the venue that was well lit with colorful lights, couches, add balconies. So we gladly paid the extra money for DJ Pauly and entered the club. From there we went upstairs and along the balcony lining the dance floor underneathe. As a large group we walked together and eventually ended up bumping into many closed doors. It seemed like at least half the club was closed off in comparison to kaskade. That didn't deter us and we continued around to the upstairs VIP bar. At that point, what I assume to be the VIP manager approached our group and verbally accosted my friends. He yelled obscenities, add threw a temper tantrum fit about how we were disrespecting HIS club and that he'd never seen such a blatant disrespect for private property. Now consider that we had paid extra to just walk around upstairs and that we were merely fulfilling our tickets. The manager shook the shoulders of one friend, berated two or three for their inexcusable actions in looking behind big black velvet curtains, and then would not accept my friends apology who was trying to control the situation from escalating. The whole interaction took all of 10 minutes, but it was embarrassing and changed the whole dynamic of the night. It was very unprofessional. The fight with the manager also brought unwanted scrutiny from other staff, bartenders, and patrons. We suddenly were left to our own devices at the bar and everyone moved away from us. I personally had ordered us a round of drinks, and stood there for another 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to pour the drinks while he spoke poorly of our group and motioned at us like he didn't like us being around his workstation. I asked my friends to walk away so I could change the dynamic back to being fun and get our drinks, but when the bartender finally ran my card and at the drinks up on the bar he said very loudly... OK, mister Jones... Your drinks are ready, I hope you have a wonderful night... All with extreme sarcasm and he motioned for the other patrons to laugh at me. I motioned for him to lean over and said, This is not VIP! This is not a bar I want to support. I will never come back! What a disgrace you all are! We left and have since decided the Metro is not a fun place to bring out of town guests. I do not recommend the club.
Fantastic venue, with excellent seating, friendly staff and a sound system that just has to be experienced. I came here for Afrojack on Dec 28th and had a fantastic time. It was truly amazing and I can't wait for their next event.
I can't emphasize how LIT the new years eve event was. These guys know how to throw a party. There's several different rooms, each with a different style of music, and different crowds. The VIP section upstairs was fantastic. The unlimited premium bar was well worth the price. I will be coming back in the future, and I will be bringing friends!
Great venue for concerts. The managment has good customer service if you call or email them. However, the only issue are the guards / people working the front. Just a touch too rude for my tastes.
