The Packing House

This is a typical Milwaukee Supper Club and that is why we come here- to get our Supper Club fix. We will come no more. Two stars is for the pleasant waitress trainee we had. I ordered the special, a peppered encrusted 12oz steak. When I began to cut my first bite my knife met gristle. At first I thought the steak had not been trimmed and tried to trim the gristle. I had almost half the "steak" piled to the side. My choice was to return it or eat what was left. Since my wife was already eating her flounder, which she liked, I decided to try and eat what was left. I did call the waitress over and showed her the pile of gristle. The manager eventually came over and I told her this was unacceptable to serve a piece of meat like this and then try to charge $36.95. The best she would do was 25% off and a free glass of house Zinfandel or a dessert which we did not want. There are other supper clubs in Milwaukee we will take our business there, not here.

It’s a nice supper club with a great menu. I usually go there for the fish fry, but I have really enjoyed other menu items. Their old fashioned’s are excellent. However, sometimes the fish is hard and dry. It’s fried too long. There are a lot of places in Milwaukee with better fish fries and potato pancakes. The reason I give it 4 stars is because everything else on the menu is good and the waiter/waitress staff is excellent.

Great jazz, possibly best in Milwaukee. It is mainly a supper club with small bar. Jazz in bar so you can hear but not see in restaurant. Disadvantage is jazz groups get little audience feedback. Since groups I have seen have been very good, results are good - but I think they would be better if audience was 50 instead of 10 people.

I'd never been there before and went with my husband. It was amazing! The food was done perfectly and it was definitely one of the best steaks ever! There was even fresh HOT bread that came with pout soup! It's pricy for the food but the quality and the staff are great and we'll worth it. It's a new special place for me and hubby.

Doesn't get better than this. Great drinks, delicious menu, full on supper club vibe, even live music during Friday fish fry. They even have a drive thru fish fry line! Excellent spot!
