Thriveworks Counseling

DO NOT GO HERE = the woman (DENISE) who is a nurse (I guess) that i was scheduled with today is the rudest least helpful woman I have ever met. After paying 100 to make the appointment on top of the 200 for the appokintment ( being promised an appointment within two weeks) I took a day off from work only to get a call five minutes before I was supposed to be there that she was canceling two weeks ago. I rescheduled for today (9 am) unaware that there was no school on this friday (today october 27) in albemarle. after a frantic morning of arranging babysitters etc... I get there 15 minutes early to find the door to THRIVE locked. As I wait I see soembody go downstairs (turns out there is a downstairs office BUT there is no sign to this effect) At 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment I go downstairs to meet this sour bitter woman who instantly is treating me with utmost disdain. she glaringly slams a clipboard into my hand and begins to scold me for not having brought the paperwork with me. I explain that I do not have internet service or a printer as I am carpenter and hate computers. She acts like I have killed her dog. Despite still having 5 minutes to fill out the single piece of paper she continues to harp on the ‘WE SENT YOU A CONFIRMATION TO YOUR EMAIL’ while treating me with utmost disdain. Apparently she thinks this I am obligated to retrieve this email (that i have no idea about as I told the people on the phone I don’t have a computer, I do not recieve email) Whatever therapy she is supposed to provide I’M PRETTY SURE IT SHOULD START WITH A MODICUM OF KINDNESS. She is easily the most unpleasant human being i’ve ever encountered in charlottesville. I missed two days of work, paid for a babysitter today, drive and hour to the appointment, got there early and I get pure venom and disgust from this horrible woman. I truly doubt somebody that unpleasant has ever helped anyone at all. she did not offer a single apology for making me miss work due to her cancelling last week (five minutes before my appointment) BUT I am apparently the worst person EVER because I am not psychic and don’t know there is a separate office downstairs making me only 5 versus 15 minutes early. NOBODY NEEDS THIS SORT OF TREATMENT! I think she should get a job with animals or people not already going through hell. NO GOOD ZERO STARS. BOO HISS = awful people alert!

Absolutely the best therapists I've ever worked with. Cannot recommend them enough.

Thriveworks really works,how thoughtful and caring these guys are so real and great people to talk to.I will love to see more work from these guys,great job,keep it up.

We've been seeing Anita Dean weekly for over 6 months now and have felt so rewarded by our time together. We have nothing but totally positive things to say about her approach, demeanor and the positive change that she has helped us achieve. We feel comforted and supported by Anita's presence and we would strongly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate counsel. She's top notch - bright, funny, relatable and most importantly, we always leave feeling renewed!

Dan and Crystal Belcher have established an incredibly friendly and professional atmosphere at Thriveworks Charlottesville. They are extremely organized and take great pride in caring for the community. We would recommend this counseling center to anyone!
