Tom's Custom Upholstery

I had 2 chairs that needed to be restored. This was my first time restoring furniture, so I was unaware of pricing. I contacted multiple people and Tom seemed to have the best price. He had me text him a picture of the furniture and he instantly provided me with a price. I dropped the chairs and the ottoman's to the office and he measured the amount of fabric I would need and explained to me the type of fabric. After dropping the fabric to Tom, he gave me a time table of 3 weeks which is very reasonable for the amount of work the chairs needed. The finished product was Amazing and was more comfortable then the original chairs! Appreciate the great work Tom!

Learn how to drive. You drive a van and are tailgating and cutting people off. The next time I see it done I will let the police know. And maybe you should pay your employees enough money to have insurance and tabs on their vehicles.

i asked for a price to cover my new short shifter knob, which is solid metal, in some leather. mind you this is a very small job. tom asked me to text over some pictures which i did. i then asked him if he got the pics and what he thought of them. he then said he would get back to me that evening. i said ok. he didnt, and so the next day i asked once what the price might be. he came back with $250. not a word of explanation, just the price. when i offered to leave some google feedback, he then back-paddled and said this: 'I'm a high end upholstery shop. I'm right in the middle of a huge project. To do that shift knob correctly the leather needs to be thinned down, sewn with a double stitch, then hand sewn in place. If you want me to just to glue a piece of black leather on the shift knob like the other shops around let me know. That's 50.00' i dont know about you, but that looks like a get lost punk to me. too bad the guy didnt realize that i have a whole set of seats that need recovering. ah well, glad i asked. i wont be giving this guy my business. EDIT: ok after getting some attention to the how and why the original $250 price does make more sense but still feels high. i guess its toms right to price things where he wants to. ok ill now increase my rating to 4 stars and possibly do business. ill come back with the final rating if and when. thanks tom for giving me an explanation.
