Just spent a wonderful dinning experience at Toscano with our friends who we hadn't seen for a while. I've been to a lot of restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley and very seldom have i received the service or been treated as well as I was by our waiter Kelly. He was superb. He took care of our every need and most important we never felt rushed and were allowed to enjoy our food and our company. The food was very good, we split the baked Brie appetizer and the addition of the drizzle of honey really made it special. The wedge salad was crisp and jus the right amount of dressing and not drowning is blue cheese like so many that I have had. We had a serving of gnocchi with red cream sauce and the chicken Marsala and both were very done. Thanks again to Kelly and the entire staff for making our visit a great one!

Waiter did not listen well, seemed to have difficulty understanding basic drink orders, and neglected to ask if we wanted to have any of our left overs boxed for carry out. He was otherwise very attentive and pleasant.
The restaurant claims on their website to have great sunset views, but this is only true if you want to go stand out front at sunset.
What was most lacking was the bar, they didn't have one of only two ingredients for a favorite drink, ran out of ingredients for another during our meal, and inexplicably started cutting the straws in half for my drinks. Not sure if this is a standard practice there, or if it was necessary because they didn't have the proper sized straws for a highball glass. They did however save the day by having a favored top shelf tequila, for which they charged 20 bucks a shot ( not horrible, I've paid more for DJ'42 ).
The bright spot was the food, it was very good, and arrived hot and well prepared.
I must say they were all over it once they perceived our initial disappointment, and worked hard to regain our confidence, which I appreciate. My date and I had a great time, in spite of so-so ambiance and drink challenges. We would recommend with appropriate cautions against high end expectations, and we will return. The Rigatoni Diavolo and the Scampi were both great!

List places upscale without the dress code. Waiters are very posh. The building has an artsy design and the food does to. Expect to pay 14 to $20 for your entree. As far as speed during rush took less than 20 minutes to get our food

This was our third time at Toscano. Our server, Blair, was awesome! Our food came out quickly and was exactly as we order. He made sure to keep our drinks full and was very attentive. The restaurant has amazing food, a nice atmosphere, and the best gelato! I have enjoyed every visit here.

I tried the calamari and it was great! Went with the carbonara for my main dish and it was also very good!
I would go back for sure and recommend it as s great place to grab some good Italian food. I'm not gonna lie, the exterior of the building initially struck me as a bit tacky, and so I want sure what to expect. The delicious food made up for it though!
