We used a Tri State trolley for transportation for our wedding party. They were professional and the trolley was great!

I work at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau in Freeport. We have used Tri-State Travel's transportation services for at least two bus trips per year for almost 14 years. Our members have never been disappointed. Cindy and Jack are both gems to work with!

I rarely review anything but this had to be shared to warn others in advance. We were in Galena and our young son wanted to ride the trolley. We were staying at the DeSoto Hotel and one of the dispatch locations was nearby, so we inquired. We had a few minutes until the next tour was scheduled and the young girl working the desk told us we were too late. I asked her to ask the driver if an exception could be made. She begrudgingly did so with no reply from the driver but another employee told her to call his cell phone. The desk girl told us AGAIN we were too late. I actually had to ask her to please do what her co-worker advised and call his cell, which she did and he did not answer. The only reason we did end up on the tour was her coworker called her back on the walkie talkie as we were leaving and the girl said, "He's not answering. I don't know what to do." Apparently the coworker knew what to do as she reported back that she spoke with the drive and he would pick us up. Upon entry to the bus, the back bench by the handicap entrance, the only available seating for the three of us, was locked in an upright position. I could not unlock it. Another passenger helped as this was holding up the tour. We both asked the driver to help and his response was, "I don't know how that works." (He later bragged he'd been giving tours for this company for decades but yet he was clueless.) We paid a LOT of money for this tour and so I began working alone on the seat and finally was able to figure out how it opened, prompting a round of applause from the likely and rightfully annoyed other passengers. The tour itself was fine but the driver made multiple off-color jokes, many of which were met with moans from the passengers. For example, at one home, the driver, a man likely in his late 60s, described in great detail the physique and tight clothing of a young girl who often sunbathed on a deck he slowed down so all could see in case she was there. She wasn't and he seemed disappointed and let us all know he honked at her daily and knew she did not like the attention. So the desk girl was lazy, the driver was too as well as being inappropriate and what most reasonable adults would describe as a pervert. All this for $36. At least our son rode free. Next time, we'll walk the tour.
