Tulsa Welding School - Jacksonville

I just completed training after seven months at Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville and I strongly recommend the school to anyone who wants professional instruction in the welding trade. I was impressed at every stage of my education. Every instructor I had contact with during every phase of instruction was professional, highly skilled as a welder and instructor, and demonstrated a sincere desire to teach and help every student. The student career services staff worked diligently to help every student who would also work to seek employment. The school brings notable large companies and prospective employers to the school to interview and test students. The even provided additional specialized training and assistance by the instructors to prepare you for the welding tests that the employers give; all with no additional expense. At the end of the day however, no-one can hold your hand forever. You must be diligent and responsible to your own success. This applies to working hard in the lab, asking instructors for assistance, studying the classroom materials, as well as applying yourself to the process of finding work and proving yourself to employers. TWS provided me what I needed to get work and continue to develop my skills in this new career.

Staff members are great! I have learned a lot from this school and am excited to get moving into the field and expand my knowledge of welding. The lab instructors are AMAZING!! They are very patient and more than willing to make the time to help the students, in the classroom and lab, regardless of the level of difficulty they are having. The knowledge the lab instructors possess is outstanding and unsurpassed. The staff in the administrative office was extremely helpful and quickly responded to any questions or needs I had. The classroom curriculum could use a lot of work. Much of the curriculum did not apply to the lab, which confused many students who did not want to ask questions for clarification. I think returning to physical text books in the classroom would benefit the students. The majority of the tablets issued are difficult to use by students because many are not very computer literate. This results in students not paying attention in class and tablets getting lost/broken. For consistency, I would recommend having instructors dedicated to teaching classroom only. Overall, the school is a great school for those who are truly willing to put in the effort to learn. I am happy I chose to attend this trade school. The lab instructors, Ivan, and Vonya truly make this school.

I've had a good experience here at TWS the staff is educational and friendly. The financial aid department needs some help. this is a great school to be a pipe welder but if you want to be any other type of welder they don't have much to offer.

Best weld school in the country. Pipe program is amazing.

Great school overall. Curriculum will prepare students for welding pipe and high frequency in the field, instructors are friendly and easy to work with. One problem is the use of tablets in the classroom, as most have been broken or lost. What you get out of this school is what you put into it.
