Upper Hand Brewery

Stopped in while passing through on Hwy 2. I really liked the decor and the Bar Keep was friendly and knowledgeable. Great price on clothing as well. But the beer... ahhh the beer. Did a flight and found all to be drinkable, which isn’t common. Larry’s latest copper lager was by far my favorite. Cool place! I’m looking forward to stopping in again on my next trip across the UP.

First time here and I was great. Got the roast beef, pastrami, and corned beef sliders which were regular sized sandwiches for most people. The meat was great quality and the bread was delicious. All the food that came out while I was waiting all looked delicious. Highly recommended and will defiantly go back.

Google has the hours wrong. Open weekends and til 10 on Friday/Saturday, I believe. Service and atmosphere were excellent! I loved the Sermon beer, wish I could find it in SW Michigan.

My wife and I stopped there to try out some of the locally brewed beer. The beer was some of the best I think I've ever had and the people were supper friendly. I will definitely go back when I'm back in Escanaba. The place is a little off the beaten path. You feel like you're about to drive on to the airport. You'll probably see the road ends sign before you see the Upper Hand sign.

I enjoyed a flight of 6, all very tasty. We bought a six pack to go. It's hidden behind the airport, off the beaten path, even some locals didn't know where it was. Great Michigan decor. Great service. Great beer. The only bad part is you can't get their brews in lower Michigan. All the more reason to stop in and try it if you're in the area.
