This place is absolutely wild. The rudest staff I have ever encountered. Rarely do I take the time to file a complaint or write a review but these people are insane and literally break federal mail laws when they don’t feel like working or assisting you. Willing to wait 45 minutes on the phone to file a complaint with the postal service against the lovely Ms. Esther. Who told me she refused to take my package because it was out of the zip code. Label zip code was 11215. post office zip code was 11215. Also when the reviews consistently by name call out two employees over and over again for their absolutely abominable behavior, is it not time to do something? No one should be treated like that for a service they are PAYING for!!! Shut this place down or fire them. Dear god.
I've been going to this station for years because they were better than the Kensington Station, but that's not saying much. Since the pandemic began, I've been there several times when they closed earlier than 5 pm, some times closing at 4:30. Today, I arrived at 4:58 with a package after a 12-block uphill walk to my car, which is difficult for me as a senior. The clerk had already locked the door, so it must have been locked between 4:55 and 4:57 as there were still people inside. She said it was "because the truck gets here". This is rude. They don't get to set or change their hours. It's 9-5 pm. One clerk in particular is incredibly rude and obnoxious to almost every patron. They repeatedly chide me for having the address too high up on the envelope for the Certified label to fit. Then I took another letter to Grand Central, where I was told the address was typed too low, after I followed the sub-station's rules.
This would be zero stars if I had that option. As others have said, incredibly mean and rude employees. The ladies made me remove my package from the bin already labeled and leave the store, and I believe they did that related to a disability I have. I will be filing a complaint with the office of civil rights since clearly this is an ongoing issue and has not been addressed. My parents are postal workers so I know this is not how they are expected to treat people. Shameful and vile.
Worst post office. Always rude same at all USPS. Wouldn’t mail my international package because they were understaffed same as all USPS or some other confusing reason that was barked at me through the window. Just shut this one down already if you can’t offer services and are always understaffed. Boo.
The people who work here are awful and hated by everyone. They clearly get off on being obnoxious to the customers. I wouldn't be surprised if they read all the bad reviews here for excitement. Worthless post office staffed by horrible, worthless people.
Usually this place is fine, one person who works here is a stickler for rules other post offices don’t even agree with. Only seems to be one person who regularly works here, so shortness of staff closings happens way too often. I understood this happening due to COVID but it shouldn’t be happening now. It was closed yesterday with no sign outside, and it’s closed again today. It’s just frustrating to carry packages here and then have to find an alternative.
-1 star for being randomly shuttered closed sometimes. -1 star for being incredibly busy with long lines at peak hours. +1 for doing what I basically need it to. I just send little envelopes. +1 for being cheaper than UPS across the street. +1 for convenient location close to home for me. Haven't had a problem with staff yet, but my needs are minimal
I renewed my passport here. The post office staff was nice and helpful. In order to save you time, you should only use the post office form with black ink. If you printout and fill it out ahead of time. They won't accept it. If you choose priority mail. Fill out the priority envelope with the send to and return address before you get to the window. The priority mail will track it. Definitely, bring a black pen. Either do a check or get a money order. You only need 1 passport photo. Accurate photo in Park Slope did a great job with my passport photos. I hope this helps.
Terrible, echoing what others have said on here, rude, mean workers and sometimes are closed with no warning and just a sign taped on the shutters. Have actually seen them yell at customers. @USPS please provide reliable professional service at this location.
Many reasons, the clerks, particularly Esty, are extremely rude and unhelpful. The hours are inconsistent with any other postal service, with entire days closed for no apparently reason. They consistently try to make obstacles to ship, citing rules I have never heard from any other post office across the states. They also inconsistently allow dropping off pre labeled packages, but will decide randomly when they don’t. All in all this has got to be the worst post office in the 50 states.
