UT Southwestern Ophthalmology Clinic

Several years ago, I had the priviledge of being seen by Dr. Preston Blomquist. Dr. Blomquist was investigating why I appeared to have developed a blind spot in my left eye. He spent several hours with me on my initial appointment, and scheduled me for a CT scan of my head, which took place the following day. Dr. Blomquist found that I have glaucoma and he treated me fir several years, until my eye pressures no longer responded to medication. Dr. Blomquist then referred me to glaucoma specialist, Dr. Karanjit Kooner. Years later, Dr. Blomquist still remembers me when he sees me, and never fails to greet me. Dr. Kooner has been treating my glaucoma since at least 2002, when I had to have laser eye surgery to relieve my eye pressure. Dr. Kooner has always taken the time to chat with me, and has a remarkable memory for details of my life, such as my interest in minor league baseball and hockey. Dr. Kooner always ensures that my questions are answered, and that I am provided with all the information possible on treating my glaucoma. My recommendation on both Dr. Blomquist and Dr. Kooner is that they are thorough, extremely knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. The UT Southwestern Opthalmology Clinic staff have all shared the same patient-centered traits as these two doctors. There is nowhere else that I would want to receive medical care than at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
