Utah State Fairpark

Just went to the Utah state fair park for the Halloween nights and it was a blast. I didn't know what to expect at first, but it was actually really fun. There was plenty of parking and room to walk around with the number of people there were. The carvings were all really awesome and there was even a live artist there carving away. A must go for anyone looking for family fun. Also went to the Chinese lantern festival. Fun Informative. Could use more activities though

Chinese Lantern Festival was amazing. Using Groupon, I purchased 3 tickets for $13 each, regularly $18 for adults. Parking was $5. We showed up for the 6:30 performance of Chinese carnival style acts. Featuring 4 performers in 4 acts. Impressive. I would recommend going closer to sundown, 8:00 to get a performance seat & check out the lights. It was beautiful, unique and affordable. See it before it leaves town in May!

I went for the recent dragon lights Chinese culture festival. They had as the name suggests a lot of lights. There were scenes from Chinese stories and histories as well as some more abstract representations of cultural things from the east. The photos I was able to take due to my long visit there are both in daylight and after dark. The craftsmanship of the figures of Goddesses, The First Emperor, Pandas, Fish and a family of happy snails were quality. I enjoyed them both in daylight and when then could glow a bit more after dark. They had signs explaining all of the meanings behind it all. Also there were people selling stuff and a stage were dancing happend.

We came here for a bike swap and stayed for the festive decorations for Chinese New Year. There are so many unique and fun events here throughout the year. Also, the building with the bike swap was stunning. I ran around with my kids in the dance floor upstairs. I would have a party or wedding reception here.

Very cool venue for any events that need the space. Only complaint is that there isn't a washroom on the second floor of the venue. Excellent air conditioning too in a summer day despite the windows beaming in light all day.
