Veterinary Referral Hospital of Hickory

The staff was wonderful — My dear sweet Buddy-an outdoor stray-was hit most probably. He was treated with the upmost respect. The ladies were all so kind and nice to me. I had to put him asleep and they were wonderful as I cried!! Awesome emergency vet facility!

This place is by far the worst veterinary practice I've been to. I'm not some bitter pet owner, I'm someone who wanted to pay them. Imagine what it will be like for you if you have to make hard decisions. -Referred to hospital, waited two weeks for consult -Did consult, dog needs ligament surgery. 3500...understood, money set aside. 3 weeks to wait -Hospital calls the week before and says the vet is so busy, we need to reschedule a couple days after. After the person calling said "things come up" I abruptly told her I'd call her back. -Called her back a day later, they are now booked until the following week. -Called the night before surgery day asking what time to bring the dog, when he'll be released, etc. They didnt have any details so I was asked to hold, after 10 minutes someone else gets on the phone and says the vet is "taking a well deserved break from surgery" and the vets on duty now will have to be asked if its okay for them to do the surgery without doing another consult. They say they will call me back -They call back next day asking to reschedule, I tell them their services are no longer required.

This place is the worst place I've ever seen it's sad we have no other choice to take our baby's than this they didn't know anymore than I did myself but I know my dog $95 upfront and 2 hrs later they want to give me a bill of $589.dollars for blood work telling me my dog didn't have a fever I knew better I just hope and pray in the future we are able to come up with a much better emergency facility than this! :(:(it won't be about money it will be about the care of the love one the dog

Our experience was a wonderful one. They were able to help me with my baby and get us on our way. They were extremely busy but were able to keep great composure. Thank you for caring

Unfortunately, my dog had been sick with lymphoma and it was her time. We brought her to this vet after hours because ours was closed. The staff were so kind. The lady at the front desk filled out the paperwork for me, as she could tell my husband and I were clearly in no shape to do so. The staff explained everything in detail to try and comfort us. When we were ready, the Veterinarian even got on the floor with my sweet baby, because that is where she was comfortable. The staff's kindness meant the world to us in this heart breaking situation.
