Low rating because they call to schedule appointments the night before for the next morning. When I had them come in the past the people were very nice however there was zero consideration given for circumstances in the home that may require more than 12 hours notice. If you are home with your loved one 24 hours a day and you or your loved one have no routine or responsibilities during the day I am sure the services of VNA would be great for you.
Let me tell you about VNA hospice and my great aunt this is my rating system the care she received from the Aide 10 care and attention to details from the nurse 10 music therapy 10. Religious representative 10. Social worker 10. Equipment delivery personnel 10. Accessibility 10 treatment of family 10. Family mental aftercare programs 10. If you ever find yourself needing hospice care for anyone you love picked the VNA. Life is short and in the end all you want is dignity and comfort and love. My great aunt had all of these from this one awesome company. Thank you VNA staff.
I was so impressed by the care that my uncle received while in an Assisted Living Facility in Lambertville, NJ. Erin the PT was exemplary in her care for my uncle. She was always on time and communicated with me on a regular basis. She was caring and sweet during her care for him. She made us feel so comfortable knowing that he was getting the best care during this time. I want to thank Erin specifically for how she treated my uncle and her wonderful bedside manner and attitude. She is a shining star of your organization!
The care of my husband: The nurses were great! I give them 5 stars. I felt the three different therapists did nothing more than I could have done myself for my husband.
VNA was wonderful to us most of the time. I will have to write another review detailing all the ways they helped my mom. However, Dr. Sharma was my mom’s hospice doctor. On the day of her passing she spoke privately with 2 family members, but did not speak with the 2 other family members. Most painfully of all, she under-medicated my mom during her passing. Myself her daughter my sister, my mom’s aide, and my mom’s sister a pediatrician at NYU all noticed this. My mom was awake, alert, shed two tears and furrowed her eyebrows in discomfort during the 30 minutes she survived trying to breathe on her own after the doctor turned off her vent. Yes, the breathing was normal, maybe not for that long, but the visible discomfort was fully avoidable. The doctor did not even tell us when she turned it off or walk through what would happen that day. Nor did she test in any way that my mom was sufficiently medicated before removing the life support. We wish this had gone differently. This doctor needs to receive feedback and reassess her process. For hospice, ensure that your loved one is getting sufficient medication before being removed from life support. My mom passed on 11/23/2021. We hope no other patient or family has to endure this in the future.
I can’t say enough about how awesome the entire team was during my mom’s hospice care. The caring , professionalism, and expertise made the difficult time so comforting and less stressful. A special thanks to Amanda our nurse, Gina at Community Hospital, and Suechely our health aide. They were all amazing and a true blessing.
Beware!Terrible experience so far. The first nurse that came was eight months pregnant and cold not move around to help my mother in law. I had to give her bandages and gauze because she had no supplies. She said they would have someone come to bathe and wash my mother in laws hair I was not told I had to give them my supplies including a basin. So that service was useless and out. The social worker pushed the moms meals Serice which is frozen food which my in law hates.she was here 2 hours pushed by the services which was frozen food and online therapy. The physical therapist was sick so that’s our. The occupational therapist chatted with my husband the whole time and did nothing. We have had three different nurses all who said the colostomy bag they had was wrong and could change it. They stay 20 minutes once a week. Useless pointless service that is clearly a Medicaid scheme.
The physical therapist Gerrard was outstanding! He was the best asset and very caring & understanding with my mother. When things were confusing with the process Gerrard helped guide us taking the time and efforts.
My OT Erin is compassionate and is dedicated to what she does to get my arm moving again after my stroke. My Nurse Margaret Roberts is a very caring person, she calls or texts to see how I'm doing in between our visits
I can not begin to say enough about VNA. I have had both my parents and my mother in law live with me during the end stages of their lives. I had used two different services. VNA is by far the best service I used. From nurses to the therapists, social workers and the doctors, the support we received was amazing. In the end hospice made the passing of our loved ones respectful and compassionate. I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone that requires this type of service.
