Great cocktails and food! The space is very cute and bigger than it appears from the street. I had a trout dish and it was amazing and the perfect potion. The cornbread was very tasty and makes you want to have more than 1 skillet! I highly recommend a visit if you get the chance!

We stopped here for a quick lunch on our way out of town. Turned out the service wasn't so "quick." I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and my husband got the Chicken Sandwich with Avocado. You'd think we could be served in 15 minutes or so, especially since it was 2 p.m. and the place was only half full. But we waited over 30 minutes and finally had to flag down the manager. Food came out right after that, and my husband said it was the best sandwich he'd ever had. They also substituted fresh strawberries for the chips, and they were DELICIOUS! Street parking can be iffy. But it's still on our list of Austin faves.

Sadly Z'Tejas has gone way downhill! It's been some years since I've been visited but it was much better before. Tough chicken, brown, dry steamed veggies... This is the level of quality I'd expect from an Applebee's, frankly. It also came out alarmingly quickly. That alone might be a positive but given the state of the food I can only assume they had everything cooked in advance. Very disappointing. The staff were very pleasant though!

We had a party of 10 on Saturday night. We were seated in a back room that already had a large party of 25 people. The room was 78 degrees. We asked for the A/C to be turned down and was told that they could do that....waited 5 minutes and had to turn down ourselves. Drinks and apps were ordered and came out pretty quickly. Our server informed us that he had to closed out the other large parties checks and a young lady would be helping him out with our table. She proceeded to take our orders at the other end of the table. I had to call a time out ...as our drinks and apps sat on trays behind us still waiting to be served to us. Then some things were missing and took forever to get those served. The building is beautiful and the outside seating as well. We weren't given an option to sit outside as it was a beautiful night and not crowded at the restaurant. But instead put in a back room that was loud and hot.Over all, not a place I would recommend to anyone.

Great outdoor seating, nice atmosphere. The burger was top 3 that I've ever had. Delicious place. If I'm ever back in Austin I will go again.
