We’ve been here several time and are never disappointed. A cold day called for some tasty hot tea, and the Black Forest filled the bill. Next up we had Egg Blackstone, the salmon with hollandaise sauce is so good, and also the Egg in a Basket, which completely satisfied our craving. Top it off with excellent friendly service, and no wonder we come back. Stop in, you’ll return, too!
Stumbled upon this place and the food didn't disappoint. We were looking for a filling meal for our 500 mile drive. Ordered grits with shrimp and okonomiyaki, a Japanese vegetable pancake and we added grilled shrimp with it, and hojicha and matte to go with it. Both were satisfying yet not heavy, the grits was bursting in flavor as the chef knew how to enhance the flavor using the shrimp broth. Don't expect your typical brunch items but be prepared for a truly delightful meal! Definitely coming back if I should find myself in this area!
Had the avocado tuna sandwich and the seared tuna was amazing. The fried veggie dumplings were also delicious. Plenty of tea options either hot or iced. Asked about nuts if you have an allergy. My side salad came with almonds but it was quickly fixed and a perfect companion to the sandwich. Peaceful ambiance and nice servers. Will be back.
So so good! Great food and a huge selection of tea from various cultures. I love the little samples of the tea of the day, it's a great way to get people to try new things. I love the strawberry brushetta and the strawberry waffles, the chocolate sundae waffle is to die for.
When I was earning my bachelor's at Capital University, I would visit the Main St ZenCha Tea Salon all the time. Today was my first time visiting the Short North location with my husband and he was astounded with how good his meal was! His first word was, "wow!" I don't think he knew what to expect but I had been telling him about this place for a while now. The tea selection is superb and the food menu is always a delight. We were here during the brunch hours so there was a limited menu, but my husband ordered the eggs in a basket and I ordered the lavender blueberry waffles. My tea of choice I wish I could do remember the name had a bold fruit flavor and my husband ordered a caramel latte. Overall, I enjoyed visiting this location and I would recommend either location to anyone. Lastly, consider sharing the waffles with a friend because the portion size was huge!
I chose zen cha for my work lunch today! All of my coworkers love it! They are very quick as well. Took them 30 mins to do 10 orders! Very well presented! They love the mango chicken with rice and salad dressing! Sandwiches might have too much bread but they combine all the beef ingredients to one bread instead and it was delicious! They already said they are gonna order again next week!
Never been a big fan of tea but woweee this place was great! The teas and food were amazing. Good brunch too. Gonna go back really soon.
Met someone for lunch here and was blown away by the quality of the food and the ever pleasant atmosphere. Though busy for lunch, it was still small enough to allow for intimate conversation. The food was high quality. Complex, delicious and beautifully presented as well. The Crab Rangoon was crisp on the outside and the filling was creamy and fresh tasting. All the food tasted fresh, hot and had the complexity of flavor you find in higher end recipes. I cant wait to return.
Been going here for years, the place is lovely. I have no complaints. Atmosphere is comforting, food is good, staff is friendly. Definitely a favorite Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible
First time in. Took my daughter & granddaughter in. I didn't realize it had no high chairs or booster seats. We did improvise. I realized that next time & any time after we will not be bringing children.Food: 5/5
