They saved my life and. The Dr's and nurses were very kind and professional. I couldn't recommend this hospital enough. They went out of there way to make sure I was getting the best care when I was there and when I came home. They didn't just send me home the next day. They cared for me for 10 days. To make sure everything was OK. Since then I've lost 150lbs and continued to fight to get my life back .
The way the ER treats their patients is shameful and embarrassing. My mom sat there for NINE HOURS and still never got treated. They claimed they admitted her then proceeded to never set her up with a room then also explain that there was a scheduled MRI. That never happened either. They never offered her food she stayed there for 9 hours and never once had the chance to eat. We saw the doctor maybe twice and wasn’t given much help. She went in for high blood pressure and the straight up neglect they gave made her blood pressure even worse because she was panicking because she was stuck in the ER and still never helped her out. I think wheeling hospital forgets that the people needing help are HUMAN. I would rather take the extra 30 more minutes to travel down to Reynold’s for now on. can’t believe you guys call yourself a hospital. My mom had to sign an AMA just to go home after she pleaded and begged for hours. They gave us no help but will sure charge you for anything they can get out of you.
Had a severe problem with my sciatic nerve, was in excruciating pain, couldn't walk, couldn't sleep .. They did nothing to help alleviate the pain so I could actually lay flat for a cat scan to see what was wrong with my nerve. I went to the ER one night on my own after Tylenol and a steroid shot did nothing and they sent me home with nothing, next day I was even worse and had to go back via ambulance. They still did absolutely nothing to help, still couldn't lay flat for a cat scan due to the incredible pain. I wouldn't recommend this hospital for anything, they did nothing to help my pain just so I could get in a Scan to see what was wrong. Sent home with no prescriptions, no pain relief, still suffering unable to walk but I bet they made sure my insurance paid them for NOTHING. Absolutely worthless Emergency Room ... Do Not Bother coming here. Thanks for nothing WVU!!
My mother is in there and I guess they expect the family to do all of her care. To bad that family that can really help are in NC and SC. So all we can do is call and complain and get ignored. So to anyone and everyone who works here today, 7-22-23, on the 4th floor and especially room 469. Do better. You wouldn't want this treatment done to your family member. If I could give a zero I would. No wonder you have a bad star average. If you care for your family member, don't take them here.
I had my gallbladder removed aug 7th about 7am in the morning in Morgantown West Virginia . The following day my girlfriend was throwing up and having abdominal pain. They let her go to the bathroom by herself and she about passed out trying to give a urine sample. They tried to poke iv’s in her 7 TIMES before they had a specialist come in and find the right spot finally. I eventually started to get sick at the time at the hospital and they did not do anything for me for 3 HOURS. I eventually left and I will not be returning to wheeling hospital ever again.
Terrible OR experience. My daughter had to wait 7 hours after her scheduled time while NPO for her surgery. No accountability for the OR schedule. I get things happen, but nobody apologized nor took accountability. Billing is horrendous. They have no problem taking my automatic payment from my account every month. Yet turn me into collections. After I have called multiple times for them to fix it. Low and behold I get another threatening bill saying they are turning me into collections AGAIN! AWFUL experience all around. I will never return
I came into the ER on July 18. I came by squad with chest pains and I had to wait in the waiting room. My time was very short there and they did alot with me while I was there. They did x-rays, blood work and medicine for pain right from the waiting room. When I got to my room I knew pretty fast that I was being admitted. They thought I needed a heart cath. Thank goodness they felt that way cause as it turned out, I had four blockages. Everyone in the cath lab was awesome in keeping me calm. But.....my real reason for this review is the nurses on the 5th floor. Especially Hillery, Dawn and Susan. Shout out to three of the BEST nurses I've ever had. You three deserve recognition. Kudos to the 5th floor nurses!!!!!!
Hospital is decent and staff is pretty good and welcoming. However billing department is an absolute nightmare. They care more about money than patients. Told them I could only afford 25 a month but I'll pay the bill. Instead they fought with me, claiming they can only accept 100 or I have to apply and get declined by Medicaid. I do not need medicaid and that's a waste of time. People who need medicaid have issues getting it due to phones being tied up because hospitals like this want to play games instead of just accept whatever payment customers can afford. Sad world we live in, when you have to choose groceries and a car payment over Healthcare. But, hospital itself is great. Just beware if you dont have insurance they don't care about you. They just care about being paid.
BY FAR THE WORSE HOSPITAL TO GO TO! THE ER IS AWFUL! Have chest pain and can't breathe and they still have people that came in after you going in and being seen before you. Sat there for hours! Then went somewhere else and found out that you were having a stroke! This place will kill you!
So far this experience at Wheeling hospital has been good. They have taken good care of my mother who was transported from wetzel county hospital with a pulmonary embolism. WETZEL COUNTY IS USUALLY AMAZING. Wheeling has had it's ups and downs in my experiences, however, so far so good this trip.
