My experience with this location is with Cindi in customer assist phone line. She completely took care of a major issue. Without Cindi handling the problem from start to finish, my situation would have been very difficult to navigate through. Over my years with Byram, they have been a solid performer in proving my orders on time and correctly invoiced. I believe proactive communication from us as consumers is a requirement. If we want things to run smoothly, we need to advocate for ourselves as in all other areas of medical care and services we may utilize. If I have an item that may be in question or may need follow-up. I do not go past 3 days without double-checking status. If I have an issue with an item, I am in daily contact just to make sure things are going smoothly. If you leave the responsibility to any company without double-checking the status daily in some cases, you are leaving a door wide open for possible interruption in the time frame that you might need your specific items. I have tried to switch health care insurance companies several times so I can avoid getting my diabetes supplies through Byram. Unfortunately I end up having to go through them time and time again. My most recent issue is when they INCORRECTLY sent out G7 sensors on an order I already called to cancel since these sensors are not compatible with my pump. I was assured it was cancelled. Then they STILL showed up. Called again and was told it would be corrected and new sensors sent out immediately. Today a week later, I get a phone call that they can’t send out the correct sensors because now my prescription is out of date. I explained my prescription was not out of date when they INCORRECTLY sent out the wrong sensors. But they can’t do anything now but wait on a new prescription. Must be nice to take no accountability for your errors.
I have never paid more for my type I diabetic supplies. Price gouging this bad is criminal. I have the top-tier coverage of BCBS. I was quoted a price over the phone, told in-network coverage. Given the agent did warn me Dexcom G6 sensors cannot be returned. Now I know why! They up-charged over 250% more than ANY company I have ever worked with TO STAY ALIVE.
Byram Healthcare is the absolute worst supplier I have ever had to deal with. I ordered a 3 month for each of my two children with type 1 diabetes. Not only did they not call the insurance to see if it required prior authorization, they sent a 6 month supply of one of the items. But don't worry not only did the first customer service rep say it will be covered by your insurance the supervisor said that as well. Last time I checked you can't guarantee how a claim will be processed until after the insurance has adjudicated the claim. Oh and the best part of all of this, Byram can't accept the supplies back that they messed up on per their policy. So they send a 6 month supply even though I am only allowed a 3 month supply and have to eat it. Awesome! I want to add it sure sounds a lot like insurance fraud if they are distributing supplies that they won't allow a return on when they admit it wasn't what I ordered.
UPDATE* The review helped me get my situation fixed. I am not changing it, because no one should live through what I did and have to give a negative review to get to talk to a human that speaks English, the person that finally helped me was a 5 star employee If I could rate Zero stars I would. The customer service is overseas and is completely useless. We were charged TWICE for 1125.00, They REFUSED to respond to me, OR my credit card company. My credit card eventually removed one of the charges and then... BOOM, charged me again! They don't listen, they don't respond, it is like banging your head against a wall. I have emailed ESCALATE@byram... BLAH BLAH BLAH and if I don't get a response in 10 days, I am going to the Attorney General. This is abusive and putting my sons health and LIFE AT RISK, as they refuse to send additional supplies until I PAY WHAT I DONT OWE THEM!!!
If you have type 1 diabetes and using insulin pump try to find a different companies for your pump supplies. It’s stressful enough to have diabetes and it’s even more stressful when u don’t receive all your pump supplies in one order and have to call them back again to order the rest of ur supplies and wait another week till they arrive…really disappointing
Worst company ever! They tell you something was delivered but it wasn't. Then they argue with you and force you to call multiple times a week for over a month for them to even agree to reship the supplies. Then they count the reshipped box as your new monthly order so then they ignore you for another month. I'm now running two months behind on supplies and they say there is nothing they can do.
OMG! Never have I had such issues ordering online medical supplies that I have with Byrum. If there was another company I could use, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute! Most recently-I was sent half of what I need for my insulin pump. Half does me no good! So I call, for the 1st half they didn't require "chart notes" but for the 2nd half they do. Really?!?! So there's another week wasted! I call my dr office & am assured they sent them. According to Byrum, they dont have them. I said "please look". Surprise, guess what they found?!?! I asked her to please rush this order as this was not my fault, and now I have no pump supplies. This was Monday, and she assured me she would. Today is Friday, and guess what? Supplies haven't even left their facility::: I was assured again they would rush them, and they should leave their facility today. Should!! Anyone wanna place bets???? I'm beyond frustrated as this kind of stuff happens far too often. I'm almost to the point where I'm considering going back to old school way & taking my insulin with a syringe.
Byram sent me a pass due statement for a balance I had already paid through my credit union's bill pay. After verifying the check did have our account number on it and that Byram did cash it, I gave them a call. The representative said they had posted it to the wrong account. This was not the first time I've had issues with the financial end of working with Byram. Watch your account balance carefully!
I have never had such a horrible time trying to get my insulin pump supplies. They are inconsistent, unreliable, poor communicators, and unprofessional. I need these supplies to literally stay alive and I have had more issues with this company than any other. They ship things late or not at all and make fake promises. If you are a type 1, stay away from them if you can.
