Byram sent my wife’s account to a debt collector despite a Byram representative saying over the phone that Byrum had made a billing error on their end, and that my wife no longer owed them anything. Emails don’t work, and they hang up on you when you try to call them; what else are we to do now that we have a debt collector coming for a payment were told we didn’t owe? Has anyone had any success with this company?!
Byram is the absolute worst! My insurance requires me to order my pump supplies through them. They have froze my account numerous times due to their incompetence which causes a delay in receiving my supplies. If you have a choice do NOT go through them for supplies.
Pretty dissatisfied with the service. Placed an order over a week ago. Called after a few days to check the status as I should’ve had it. They apologized profusely as they had forgotten to approve it. Stated that they had gotten it approved and it would be there the next day. 2 days at the absolute worst. Just called again, 3 days later and they indicated the order is still in processing. The online portal indicates the order is shipped. The person on the phone indicates the order is being prepared for delivery today and will be here in 1-3 days. I’m now almost 2 weeks out from the original order and I am needing to purchase test strips out of pocket so I can stay on top of my blood glucose while I wait again for my order.
Not sure where to start. Ordering pump supplies is easy, but trying to order sensors or transmitters is pretty much impossible, as I am always bounced from one department to another to try and figure it out. How wonderful that I get to spend hours doing this every 90 days! Recently I was sent to collections for a $29 balance from December of 2021. It is now March of 2023. I have ordered countless supplies in that 14 month span and was never once told I owed $29. I have made NUMEROUS payments in that 14 month span, but for some reason, non of those payments were applied to this pitiful $29 balance. They claim to have sent notices in the mail, which is false, but also ridiculous as I receive texts and emails from them CONSTANTLY. Why mail the past due, but remind me 60 days early I can order supplies? I have now been on the phone for close to three hours to clear up a past due and order supplies! I have spoken with countless reps, most of which have no answer, one of whom hung up on me because she had no answer to my question of why I have paid hundreds in the past 14 months but still sent to collections over $29 from December of 2021! Are you kidding me?
This company proved unreliable for ordering my Diabetic supplies. Additionally, their online interface is abysmal and phone wait times were never less than 15 minutes . If you have an option to use a different medical supplier, choose anyone other than Byram.
**update** nothing has changed. Because of his insurance he's supposed to have free overnight delivery. The regularly ship ground. They still almost exclusively use ontrac which has *lost* his package more at least once a year and almost everytime it is "delayed". We regularly have billing issues but I wouldn't know unless I kept good records and doubled checked the Medicare statements. Also they stopped mailing bills and the online ones appear to be randomly generated. We've literally not been billed for an order for over 6 months. Or sometimes get billed within 2 weeks. Billed incorrect amounts. And the attempts at double billing the insurance continues. The only positive is recently they approved him for thier hardship waiver for a year due to financial difficulties. If that works out I'll bump it up to 2 stars next year. ** I wish I could leave zero stars. We've been dealing with them for years because they are the provider for our Insurance and have no choice. Hard to get through to people on the phone. Long long long hold times when you do. Billing issues. Insurance billing issue they tried to charge insurance 2x for the same equipment/supplies on more than 1 occasion. The bills are not clear as to what you are paying for. They use Ontrac to ship. Ontrac regularly loses our shipments for several extra days. Because of thier ineptness my husband regularly ends up in urgent care for his condition while we are waiting for the *needed* supplies to come. I have started the formal complaint process through both the state insurance Commission and through our Insurance after this last muck up. My husband has been without supplies for 2 weeks, I've had to take him to urgent care 3x for stabilization. Byram refuse to replace a "lost" shipment. They were supposed to send it guaranteed overnight - a week ago. It was shipped ground 5 days ago. And the shipper has marked the package as lost when it wasn't delivered on the day it was supposed to be. Yet they refuse to even send a small supply until the shipper finishes they "inquiry" into the package. If we didn't literally need life giving medical supplies we would be done.
A single star is being generous - as other customers mentioned! Byram reps placed wrong order have no idea how they managed it. I was able to catch it quick. Placed another order and still didn't receive an order for a month. On order it shows "0 items shipped" - maybe Byram managed to mess it up again somehow. Phone extension numbers on their website not valid. Called several times - no adequate answer. It takes 1 hour to reach Byram representative by phone. That's not all - then they will transfer you to your state location local number is not available and you have to wait again and sometimes representative hung-up after all that waiting time. Nobody called me back. No email response. Website chat won't work Message: Chat has timed out." when you start chat. Such a mess and disregard for customers. Sad...
Amendment to previous review: I'm giving Byram another chance after the management stepped in to problem solve. Hopefully, the better service will continue and the stars increase. After dealing with company for over a year, a single star is being generous! The constant problems have resulted in my spending hundreds of dollars for products that should have been covered by my daughter's medical insurance. Actively looking for a more competent provider.
I would not suggest working with this provider. They made a mistake with billing and refuse to re-run the code. It was next to impossible to get any progress.. and the customer service line kept disconnecting. Not a great sign. FOLLOWUP: Bryam had an automatic email response to this review.. but that email alias isn't monitored. I have had zero response to my issue. Again, not the best here.
Another one star review for Byram. Wasn't too hard getting set up and an order placed but they can't seem to manage a fax system. They keep saying they haven't got my prescription yet. I confirmed it with my ostomy nurse and she showed me the fax confirmation that the other side received it. Liberator medical is a better choice by far. They have a voice line the Dr can call for first order while all the faxing goes on. When I called Byram to cancel the order, the lady was super fast and quickly asked if I wanted to close my account. Yes of course. Thank you and click. She was sure happy to get off the phone. Byram, you should try to help your customers, not be a barrier. At no point did anyone offer to help or fix anything about the issue. You had a few chances to save a customer but the lack of customer service cost you a customer and another bad review. Take care and I hope others find this review helpful. Tom
