City of El Monte Police Department

i week ago i called the police dispatcher because someone hit my park car. The lady told me the police does not come unless there are injuries involved. I thought really since when did the laws change. A police report is to cover yourself in case the other person does not have insurance or takes off. This way you protect your property to make sure the other person has their liability in place otherwise your policy has to pay. So to me this people that are to protect and serve is only at their convenience when they want to do something it gets done otherwise is just laziness. Police need to understand that we as citizen pay taxes to have them come and help when is necessary even if you request service. Maybe for them is irrational but for citizen is important. So El Monte Police step up to the place and do your job when even for something to use is insignificant to us is valid.

It all comes down to who got money. Our community is being demoted by this services who's more concerned on their personal interest. I've been robbed 5 times this year and my neighbors too. All they say is " we got bigger problems " . Now how do I deal with this, cops don't help and my neighborhood being a target for robbers. I'm not upset or angry but troubled. We got families here and we all pay taxes for what reason?

This is the most retarded police department, they do not know how to do their job they are rude they are stupid, I am not referring to every cop in this department but I am referring to the cops that took my report they did not know how to do their job I help them by giving them information about the car that crash me and did not do anything about it. Now I'm left with a totaled car because of these stupid officers that did not want to arrest the woman that crashed my car and left the scene. I Pay taxes and therefore I should feel save in my own city and have hope that they could keep me save but now I know that am not save they don't know how to do their job. I guess is up to me to do the investigation.

The review is for the POS that answered my call. Condescending jerk was putting words in my mouth and yelling when the idiot kept interrupting me and asking me questions. HOW THE HELL CAN I ANSWER if you keep interrupting me? Very disrespectful and questioning my judgment as a parent. I hope he's only a dispatcher because I would hate for someone to have to deal with such a POS who takes his position and manipulates it. This idiot talking about X-ray vision! The stupidity of his words and disrespectful ways is was makes people so angry with police. However the actual police officer I spoke to was helpful and I appreciate the effort they provided in helping with my situation. That was all I was asking for.

Being 29 weeks pregnant is the worse way to get stop by cops. Me personally i was just sitting on the curve on my phone. I just saw my bf and his friend being search by the cops so i stood up to see what was going on and sure enough a undercover shows up and starts yelling at me. I just couldn't process what was happening so i sat on the curve like he said at that moment more cops showed up i just let them know i was pregnant. Thanks to those 2 officers for treating me nice and calming me down because i was getting emotional but to that "undercover cop" he needs to calm down i felt like he took his power way to far while the other cops stood their ground but treated us professional still. They did arrest my bf but they said he'll be out in like 3 hours so they told me i didn't have to follow him to the station. The only thing is they said they will call me when my bf was out but they never did i found him walking as i was driving. Why did they get my Name, Address, and phone # for if they weren't even gonna bother to let me know when he was out. Nonsense.

I would like to share my story this all happened a few hours ago in Elmonte major street Gravey dated 4/2/18. I got pulled over by 6 cop cars all tactical formation had their semi automatics guns pointed at my vehicle. At that moment I felt the world for me has come to end scared coz any slit mistake I do put my hand down would be shot at. I did all they asked me to do handcuffed put me in the back of their cruiser. Reason they kept saying someone has been reported to have guns in the area so gave them go head to search my vehicle found NOTHING. They got me out their cruiser sat at the curb side told them reason why I was in that area to see my girlfriend. All in that at the moment alot is circling in my mind if nothing is found why can't they let me go, is it the car that I'm driving or what is an African American doing in this particular area. Here is what I don't understand at the curb side I was told stand face one of their vehicles with flash light "on their radio didn't match description who they were looking for coz they used a code." They put back in vehicle again to search in the data base if I had any pending arrest warrants. Nothing was was on my record for 25min stand off I believe the minute they sensed didn't have any wopeans they should have immidately let me go and go with their search.I respect police officers in what they do for communites after this whole incident I felt in certain type of way but it's the world we live in..

You do not at all do what your motto says "To proctect and serve" Instead you let a creeper run loose in your city and streets. Taking people hostage and hurting them. Shame on you El Monte PD. Your dispatchers are a joke to no help and all they do is stuff their faces with food and donuts.

The police are always good when we need their help. I'm leaving one star because I called today about a drunk man making nasty sexual comments to myself and a couple employees and the women customers making everyone extremely uncomfortable. He was very unstable and extremely rude sitting with a giant bottle of tequila and when I called they ask if it was an emergency and it wasn't yet but that's why I called the police department number and not 911... my boss had me hang up and call the other number we had and the dispatcher yelled at me for hanging up and saying that they were dealing with more important things then what I was dealing with right now.. then proceeded to tell me there is a gun men and what we had wasn't important... I get it but she was extremely rude and yelled at me. I think the situation could have been handled way more professionally and just told me that they would send someone when they handle a situation before ours because I'm also at work and don't need to be waiting on the phone when they could send someone when they had more time. I'm extremely upset about how the whole thing was handled very unprofessional.

I would like to express my heartfelt thank you and commend officier erique and his partner for retrieving my stolen phone today. They were extremely professional and efficient. iPhone’s “Lost Mode” definitely was a plus. Thank you once again :

This place has a small lobby with two officers usually attending to the front desk. It can sometimes be a bit of a wait to speak to them as there are usually several people waiting to be helped. There is a large parking lot behind the the department and it is part of a complex shared with the city hall.
