Had to call Roundrock police a few times but yesterday at the Roundrock dog park was a mess. Apparently the police that went there could care less about the victim and let the one who was doing the assaulting get off free to do it again. Some of these cops have bad days and take it out on the the ones who call.
I had my first negative experience with Round Rock PD yesterday. My husband and I got pulled over because the officer told him one of his taillights was out. He let us go with a warning. I thought that was nice of him until we checked the car later to see which light was out. Both sides were working perfectly fine. I suspect we were pulled over because we were driving home late around 2 am. The officer must've known he wouldn't be able to get my husband on driving under the influence because my husband spoke clearly and respectfully and was CLEARLY SOBER. Round Rock PD - please don't pull people over for no reason. You lose your credibility and any respect your upstanding citizens might have had for you. In the past, you've always been helpful and made me feel safe in my neighborhood. Please do your reputation a favor and serve your community, not bully it.
I was simply trying to get a solicitor’s permit and the women made it the most difficult possible. They didn’t even let me get one. They wasted my time and were blatantly rude and nasty to me while I did nothing wrong. They abused their power and threatened to get an officer out there even though we did nothing unlawful. Walked out crying, these women were so mean to me, a harmless teenage girl. Watch out for the short one with a blonde bob, idk who hurt her but she was verbally attacking us the entire time for no reason.
I originally called and asked a dispatcher what time the lobby closed and was told at 5pm. I further explained my situation, that my husband and child’s father were just recently in a physical altercation 2 days ago and being that everything was still recent and fresh I wanted to have an officer on standby to make sure my child’s father wouldn’t try being aggressive like he normally is. The dispatcher I spoke with told me that I could call the none emergency number back when it was time to do the exchange and they would send somebody out. Great! So in route to the police station, we call and ask if someone can come out for us and was told by the supervisor that they don’t do civil standbys. After explaining to her that I was just told that they would send someone she informed me that they gave me wrong information and they don’t do that but if they started fighting I could call 911 and they would come out. I told her that I would prefer not to wait for someone to get hurt to where she stated, “are you saying that your husband and your child’s father are incapable of being adults” so I told her it had nothing to do with being an adult if the situation is hectic and there’s tension why wait for something to happen when it could’ve been avoided all in a matter of a minute or 2. She had an officer call and repeat the same thing to me, which he even added that there weren’t enough officers to do civil standbys. I stated to him as well as the supervisor before him that we were doing the exchange at the police station so we simply just needed someone to come outside. After getting absolutely no where I ended the call and called my father who happens to be a sergeant in our home town to sit on the phone with us for the just in case. This is truly sad, I understand being busy but if someone is asking for assistance regardless if they see it to be an emergency or not they should be a little more willing to assist. Being told to wait until there’s a fight is total B.S. because if there was a fight and someone was seriously or fatally injured it would be devastating to know that the last call made was asking for their assistance to simply come outside and give no more of a couple of minutes to make sure everything would be ok. If it wasn’t necessary, I would NEVER call them for assistance ever again. Oh by the way, my child’s father showed up with 4 guys in his truck including himself. Maybe they were headed to BBQ!
I had a issue with fraudulent mail saying i had outstanding warrants In round rock. After contacting the police department and much to my delight. The professionalism compared to the police department in the town i live in blew me away to the point me and my wife are talking about moving to round rock! You guy rock and are true professionals. Thanks from me and my family!
Thank you, Round Rock Police, specially Sgt. Robert Manta for their professionalism in handling a harassment case against my family & business. If you read some of these ignorant poor reviews, ignore them. These are based from non-compliant individuals that have no compassion for law enforcement and don't consider an officers safety, training, and daily accounts of crime, stress, or procedures that they must follow to keep our communities safe and crime free. Some of these reviews I read are about complaining of being pulled over, my picture was taken, or I don't have to show my ID unless I'm being charged with a crime, etc. Let's stop acting like activists and start respecting their duties and job. Surely if my house or property was damaged or broken into I'm certainly counting on my local law enforcement to help me even if I have been ticketed before or arrested. "KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, RRPD"
Uodate*** Round Rock Police Dept is totally crooked! They edited body cam footage of one officer then lied about being unable to download the investigating officer's body cam. Internal Affairs is a bad joke. The chief is also a bad joke who will never so much as question his officers' behavior or professionalism. I was chased & purposely hit by a crazy man on Ih35 yet Round Rock officer, Webb, blamed me & gave me a ticket without ever giving me an opportunity to tell him what actually happened! I never dreamed this would ever occur within a whole police department but it is true! I grew up around many officers & have had a tremendous amount of respect for them! Round Rock Police Department needs to clean up their act & be properly investigated & held accountable for their lack of integrity & professionalism! Truth always comes out eventually!** Round Rock police failed to investigate my accident on freeway where a man purposely hit me. I spoke to two Sargent's - one over patrol & the one over traffic - as well as a leutinant over patrol. They stuck with the officers preformed conclusion and refused to look at the officers body camera footage of the officer's interaction with me. The investigating officer walked up to me after taking the other driver and told me what happened without hearing my statement. I attempted to tell the officer what actually happened and that the other driver purposely hit me! However, the officer already had his simple mind made up and I was blamed for the accident. Round Rock police need to be better trained to recognize problems of mental illness and read body language. They never even questioned the other driver regarding my statement. The other driver was let off scott free after purposely hitting me! Thanks RRPD for the negative experience and fear that the other driver with severe mental illness is free to chase & hit other drivers without consequence!
One thing I think we can all agree with is how much we hate being pulled over by an officer and being talked to like dirt, whether we were guilty or doing anything wrong or not. I, for one, would rather get a ticket from someone who treats me like a human than get let off with a warning well, depending on what it is by someone who treats me with no respect. After seeing me do something he felt was maybe a little dangerous and pulling me over to have a talk with me to point out the error in my ways, officer J. Johnson treated me with the utmost respect. His approach, conversation, and overall demeanor throughout the entire process was professional, approachable, and, most importantly, respectable. Even if he had given me a fine for something I had never heard of I would have walked away upset that I had been fined, but happy I had dealt with a great police officer. We all hear these terrible stories of police brutality and abuse, and many of them are true. For this reason, I am always so quick to point out when someone is doing something right. Here's to hoping I never have to see you again officer Johnson. Stay safe out there!
I've had the pleasure of encountering multiple RRPD officers and have had absolutely nothing negative to say! I personally had an officer come out to assist with removing a rattlesnake from my just outside my home. The officer was very thorough and checked around my entire house for additional rattlesnakes. This was an animal control job but they were off for the night. This officer didn't have to do any of this but was determined to assist my family and I so we could sleep just a bit easier. Most of these negative reviews I see are from one encounter that didn't go the way you hoped or you were breaking the law and are upset you got punished. Support your local police, they are who you're going to need to call in an emergency!
Unbelievable, Citizen calls requesting assistance while they drop off their child to the other parent, in the police department parking lot, due to a recent domestic violence issue. Department response, we don’t do that. Call us if something happens, and departments wonder why they have a bad reputation. A quick roll through the parking lot is worth more than a thousand I’m Sorry and thoughts and prayers. 33 Years LE
