With a history of Comfort Suites bookings we have experienced the 2-star to the 5-star locations and have come to appreciate the Comfort Suites brand as a reliable and clean option. This location near the Gettysburg Battlefield is terrific for location/ proximity to the battlefield and museum. The staff was very friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable to the area. The rooms were a little, 'worn', which is common wear and tear but were very clean which is important. The breakfast bar provided hot and cold options consisting on the exact same options everyday- no variety so that was a little bit of a disappointment. Overall I can provide a solid 3-star review and if the option for a 3.5-star existed that is where I would land. Rooms: Very clean, comfortable, but a little worn. Nearby activities: The battlefield, museum, and cemetery are must see. Food & drinks: The breakfast bar consisted of the usual cereal offerings as well as an egg and cheese omelet thing which wa not really an omelet but not scrambled either, sausage, waffle, breads, but no bananas...
We've stayed at the Comfort Suites near Gettysburg PA several times and have always had a great time. My grandson loves the indoor pool and we all love the hot breakfast. There's something for everyone. We just stayed there about 3 weeks ago and are staying there for a few days within the next few weeks. The staff is great and always very helpful. We've developed a fondness for the history of Gettysburg PA and look forward to our next visit. A special shout-out to Scott at the front desk for always being so patient and kind especially when dealing with my 6 year old grandson with all of his questions. . Thank you for being so accommodating with our room. I'm disabled and use a cane or a walker and your staff is always able to get an accessible room, preferably on the first floor for me or a room with a view of the graveyard for my adult daughter who's very interested in the history. Rooms: Bathroom could have been cleaner. Nearby activities: Jennie Wade house Safety: I felt very safe in this hotel Walkability: I didn't do much walking because I am disabled but my family walked through some of the sites Food & drinks: Free hot breakfast every morning. Great coffee, sausage and eggs, bagels, Danish, yogurt, waffle maker, juice, something for everyone. Noteworthy details: My adult daughter loves to come and bring her son who is 6 years old. He takes swim lessons and loves the indoor pool. That's the main reason why we come through comfort suites near Gettysburg
The location is great right next to the cemeteries. The service was OK. The first room we got didn't have a mattress on the fold out sofa and under the sofa was a bunch of candy wrappers. They said my credit card didn't work even thought I'd been using it all day so I gave them my debit card which I hate doing. Overall, not a bad place to stay in Gettysburg
It has always been my husband and I's dream vacation to visit Gettysburg National Military Park. Our travel agent did a very nice job booking this hotel. It was clean, staff was very friendly, especially the two at the front desk during the day. I can't remember their names. It was a guy and a lady. So, now many of you know I do very honest reviews with a pros and cons list. So here we go. At the end, please give me a follow. Pros: Located in the heart of Gettysburg The rooms were very clean The staff was friendly except for one, explanation later in the post The elevator working properly and clean Everything was dusted a few minor issues will be listed in the Cons section Microwave was clean The bathroom was well-stocked Housekeeping will not enter the room unless you ask for it, except for the third day of the visit, however, you can call and request them not to. You can also call and request if you need anything or ask a housekeeper on the floor during their cleaning hours. Parking lot clean Close to cemeteries, if you are a ghost hunter or interested in the paranormal, this is the must-go to hotel, the cemetery is located right behind it. Breakfast was amazing, and served within decent hours. Offers water and tea in the lobby The manager was very nice and helpful. Extra USB plugs to keep those electronics charged The lights worked very well No signs of bed bugs or insect issues Best pricing on booking of rooms Near most food or grocery stores, even for deliveries. Cons: The pool was not heated as it said, however, was a very comfortable temperature, due to the hotness outside. The pool area could use an upgrade otherwise still very relaxing Refrigerators need updating Some minor details, need to be paid attention to, such as the bathroom door needing to be wiped down after check-outs Mirrors and windows need to be washed Stair rails need to be wiped down, otherwise, it was kept very clean The air conditioner kept cutting on and off, and we were struggling to keep it in a comfortable setting. Doors to rooms need to be checked, ours kept getting stuck, but not too bad. Ok back to that one person that was very unfriendly. She works nights and was very rude to us when we came a few days earlier. Understandably, we did not have a reservation for those two days, but she was raising her voice to my husband in front of others, just because he had a mask onhe is having dental work, and he feels uncomfortable when not wearing a mask. However, she didn't have to be that loud. We waited at the front desk for about 5-7 minutes before we even saw her, for assistance. Then she proceeded to tell us there were no rooms available. Which we understand, but she didn't even look, she pretended to look. Which we did talk to the manager the next day and he said they had rooms available. She made that hotel look terrible, I was ready to get another hotel and cancel the reservation we had. However, as I said, the manager is very nice and he took care of it. I'm honestly glad we stayed here, we made memories and met good people, and the rest of the staff was extremely friendly. I do highly recommend staying here.
Nice place clean and well kept. Friendly hard working staff. Great a/c indoor pool. Decent breakfast. Fairly close to center of town. Rooms: Standard hotel room. Clean good a/c Nearby activities: I say center of town is fairly close walking distance. Picketts charge fairly close easy drive. Doable walk for health adults Safety: Seems safe Walkability: For a well bodied person easy walk to town center. Elderly or small children probably short drive might be better. It fairly close to town center. Easy walk to cemetery. Noteworthy details: Very freidly and helpful staff.
Our room was very clean. The hotel is very close to all of the battlefield attractions, some literally across the street. Breakfast was good. It was a very good experience for usRooms: 5/5
So I frequent this hotel and awhile it has its upside and downs its a nice place to stay. The employees are always very nice. The most recent thing that has been a bummer is their breakfast. They got rid of the most of the items I would normal eat there. Bagels, which I feel are a staple in most places that offer breakfast and they got rid of them along with the creame cheese and my favorite vanilla creamer. Though these might seem trivial to some, when you have children who are picky eaters, it was really nice having those options. So definitely a bummer on our end.
Check in guy was awesome. We had some issues with the external online booking site messing up our reservation, but he helped us still be able to get a room. He was very patient and friendly through the whole process. Room is clean, comfortable, and best of all, my room has a view of the cemetery. Hotel is just a few minutes outside the main center of town. Puts you close to everything without being in the hustle of the main part of baltimore pike.
I was helping a family member who was traveling and accidently booked this on the Expedia website but canceled it within an hour on the website. There was a cancellation selection available. After 3 days I didn't get a refund so contacted Expedia and they contacted the hotel. The hotel refused to issue a refund of any funds! Expedia said there was nothing else they could do. I am very upset this error and lack of a business having any integrity cost me $190! I will never use Expedia again as I thought they would protect customers and would have leverage with the vendors due to the volume of spend they process.
While the hotel is convenient and served its purpose on our way to Washington DC, we found that it wasn't all that clean. Not just the room, but the hallways. The sofa bed was too small as well. We wouldn't come here again, and it even put us off the notion of Comfort Inns in general.Rooms: 2/5
