I was looking for a dresser for my new place and found it here! I badly needed to rescue my poor clothes from being stuck in boxes, and had my heart on a Mid-Century Modern dresser. I found one I loved, used the tape measures available at the counter !!! to check dimensions, and bought it! Here is where I messed up. I didn’t check the back of the dresser where it was pushed against the wall. When the third party delivery brought my dresser to the curb I was very surprised to see a giant hole in the back! Luckily, customer service was great. I emailed the store right away and they made things right, since they did know about the hole ahead of time. Lesson learned! Don’t be like me kids, check your second hand goodies from all angles before buying.
Interesting space on a intriguing block. This is the one with the furniture. Some really cool and unique pieces. Definitely has treasures coming through. Can’t say much about any of the staff or co-op’ters because no one said a word to us; but didn’t feel particularly unfriendly. If you’re in the area specifically looking for pieces or just enjoy shopping in thrift vintage styles then it’s worth peaking in. I’d up the star if people were more friendly and welcoming tbh. But my impression stands. Worth visiting if you’re around. The quality of goods when I visited were in great shape! And clean! So it’s certainly worth peaking in . They have some wonderful art, chandeliers, and even clothes!
This place seems best for large MCM furniture items, and they did have some good looking items which seemed reasonable. However a lot of the smaller furniture and decor items were way overpriced. There was a completely decrepit small wood dresser that needed a ton of work for about $70. Another $250 armchair had amazing carving but very stained upholstery, and would also need work. These kinds of things would be great finds on the curb, but not so much for a purchase that requires further time and money.
Honestly decent prices for Greenpoint, still steep but better then a lot of other instagram famous spots. However the staff need to work on their customer service skills. I came in Saturday wearing a mask and the judgy older woman owner kept reminding me I didn't have to wear it, that they "don't do that here" and they are not required...like O.K., I get it, let me look for some wine glasses in peace lol.. Last time I checked we're in a covid wave, you do you but let me protect myself!!
Really cool stuff!
Cool, well curated inventory! The larger furniture items like couches are priced surprisingly fairly. They also have some gorgeous vintage clothing items in a variety of sizes, and the pricing in those is similar to nearby vintage clothing shops. I didn’t pay much attention to most of the prices on smaller decorative items since I don’t really have the space right now, but a few items caught my eye that were affordable enough for me to strongly consider taking home.
Dobbins is the best!! Not sure what the pricey reviews are about, everything I've seen is budget friendly. My roommate and I got an amazing velvet couch for a steal when DFT down the street was charging 3x for the same thing. And they have the cutest store dog!
Such a cute and affordable vintage store! Lots of cool Knick knacks and cups for the home and everything is priced so reasonably. Very nice girl running the store as well!
Good selection at this place but some of the prices are outrageous. I purchased a mirror for 65 dollars thinking it was a good price for a vintage piece. After purchasing, I noticed it was brand new from Homegoods, costing 14 dollars. Complete scam and all sales were final. It was a bummer to say the least, it really left a bad taste in my mouth.
Interesting pieces. Pricing is a bit of a stretch, but sometimes worth it
