Forest Lawn Cemetery
"City of Norfolk-owned Cemetery. Established in 1906, Forest Lawn is the largest and most modern of Norfolk's eight municipal cemeteries. The City of Norfolk purchased a tract of property from George S. Bunting to create the cemetery. The land's original owners for generations, the Langley Family Burial Ground was included in this purchase and remains as a historical point of interest today with interments dating to the 1700s. Originally known as Evergreen Cemetery, the name was changed in April 1908 to give it a more modern name indicative of a place “in which Norfolk citizens will be proud to rest.”"

I just put my man to rest in their mausoleum. It was beautiful and it’s in the cut. The office was very helpful and took their time with my family. Thanks to the gentleman who handled my application
First cemetery I have been to that had an office on-site and bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. I went to Forest Lawn for a funeral recently. Grounds were very clean and well kept. Greenery is pretty here. Plenty of parking since the cemetery is so big.
I have loved ones buried here and while they try to keep things in order with mowing and edging, it is pretty sad to see some of the toppled stones, especially in the older areas, victims of time and vandalism. There is a mausoleum with the door windows broken out and large insect nests growing on the ceiling -- maybe it can be boarded up as there are large chunks of broken sharp glass still in the framework. I like the fact that the place is a very peaceful one, but dogs should be kept on leashes and not allowed to do their business, at large, around the burial plots or run up to people who are trying to find a grave. I have a balance problem and a few weeks ago a large Lab mix ran up to me and I nearly fell -- the doggo was a good distance away from his humans and running loose around the East Lawn/Seamans' Friend Society plot before he was called back. Not only would this be safer for human visitors, but I have also seen foxes and at least one raccoon patrolling the more wooded areas. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs but I don't want to see anyone, human, canine or wildlife get hurt. .
We have yet to find many things to complain about with this cemetery. I have at least two relatives Grandparents buried here and the grave is usually pretty decent with nothing over growing it looks like they treat the graves with respect which is one big thing that we ask of them!
The grounds are kept nice and clean. The back older side of the lot has been run down...but I don't believe that is due to lack of maintenance. It from storms, lack of funding and the economical struggles over the last century. Other than that, it's very peaceful and beautiful.
I love the peacefulness and clean surroundings. My soul mate is buried here.
Visiting Forest Lawn Cemetery really made me feel alive! Beautiful Norfolk views but the social scene is dead. Great place for kick the bucket, hide n' seek and dirt naps. Conveniently located right off Granby, but once you're in there it's a dead end.
An enormous cemetary with lots of interesting tombs and headstones. Many of them are Ingress portals and there is a mission. Lots of respect for all those that have moved on from this life.
You can't keep nothing on your family's grave, they throw things away, people removes the items off the headstones, or they bust your stuff you have on the grave. If I known this, and could change it, I would put my cousin else where.....
Very well kept cemetery. The grass is always neat and trimmed. A nice quiet place for a walk.
