The Pearl of Naperville is an awesome rehabilitation center. My sister was admitted after a stroke and received exceptional care during her 2-month stay. Office manager Brittany, social service director Kayla, and the nursing and therapy teams all took a personal interest in my sister’s well being — evaluating her needs, providing PT-OT-ST, communicating with family-doctors-insurance_company, ensuring all are aware of continuing care needs, and helping us make arrangements for an enjoyable and safe way of life for my sister moving forward.
I met with Jennifer and Bianca today. Both were very nice and provided a lot of information about their services at The Pearl. I am excited to tour once renovations are completed.
I have seen my share of facilities. After taking a tour I would have to say that it is a wonderful facility and would feel very comfortable bringing a loved one here. The staff members were all so generous and kind. Even the maintenance guy was helpful and appeared to enjoy his job as he kept a smile on his face. They appeared to have an amazing therapy team which is very important. I would recommend this facility to others.
I try to write a couple of thank you cards each day to people that are remarkable at what they do and this was one card that for whatever reason was sent back to me and has been in my possession for a while now...Hoping that this can give some much needed encouragement to the intended recipient today!
Pearl of Naperville is a place I would like to recommend to anyone that maybe looking to place their love ones. I have an family member that lives there who has a trach and the facility has been good to him. There's an guy who stood out that works on the building there, who has made sure my dad had his TV, refrigerator and all his amenities to keep him comfortable. So I just wanted to say that this is a place I feel anyone would love to bring their family members.
I was very impressed with this facility. All rehabilitation centers have inherent challenges, but these people are doing an awesome job. My wife was admitted here for 3-4 weeks and although there were one or two small issues, I can't say enough about the staff, the food and the management!!!! Staff was caring and responsive, sometimes being proactive on my wife's needs. The facility was clean, and the food was good. My wife had maybe one or two repeated dinners the whole time. On my wife's first day there, management made it a point to come to her room, introduce themselves and repeatedly told her that if she needed anything to call. Throughout her stay I received updates on her condition and was invited to an in-person meeting with key staff to discuss her treatment and health plan. There were daily activities and informational handouts. Everyone had a very friendly and positive attitude. Like I said, All rehabilitation centers have inherent challenges; staffing, budget, facilities, etc.. But I was impressed with the personal and professional manner in which the Pearl of Naperville is choosing to meet those challenges.
I want to start by saying when arriving to pearl of Naperville to fill out an application.the building smell clean, and looked clean. when approaching the front desk it was a gentlemen there, and i asked him what positions are opened. He started by giving his name. of which i can't remember. but he's the maintenance manager. He proceeded to answer the phone because know one was there to take the calls. The residents seemed to also get a kick out of talking with this gentlement. because he asked the resident to hand him a light bulb as he was getting up on the ladder. and she handed him a screw driver. and i thought that was so funny how nice it is to have the workers interact with the residents.
I tried very hard to find good things to say about this facility. My mother in her 90s stayed here for 2 weeks after surgery. They are incredibly short-staffed, staff members come and go - here today, gone tomorrow. Family of this patient was very involved and proactive ... therefore, she got some attention. Patient was not bathed for the first 11 days. Staff said that she is on the "list" to be bathed ... but nobody really looks at the list ! No doctor or NP came to see her, until the last day, before discharge. Medicines were blindly given without monitoring the needs, for example, blood thinner continued at the original level even after patient started moving around. Physical therapy group is excellent ! Room cleaning person was excellent! Couldn't get much attention from anyone else. Case manager is extremely overworked; when time came for discharge, she promised to have "homecare" for bathing etc arranged. Nothing happened, our calls to her went unanswered. On top of all this, this Medicaid patient's family gets a bill for a $1000+ dollars, without any explanation whatsoever. No EOB, no detailed charges. Just one sheet of paper with the amount "owed." !!!!! Felt sorry for the other patients who did not have anyone speaking up for them !!
Staff treats the residents like family, and with great respect. Everyone works together to get tasks done as a team and really puts effort into making sure all needs are heard and achieved. The therapy team is exceptional creating a great and safe rehab environment.
I came in the other day for a job application and ran into who I think is the maintenance man who I had a memorable interaction with. He seemed very kind and cared about his place of work, working hard to keep everything clean and tidy.
